no matter where you travel respecting the cultural mores will make you a welcome guest. Japan is a beautiful country, a priceless experience [and of Sumo, sadly they recently lost a legend]

you assume an age bracket, I hope you are right that it is they dying cry of a disgruntled/disillusioned generation. what happened to make love not war? forgotten in the rush of acquisition of the material? I fear that it is contaminating the succeeding generations fueled by social media.

I am wondering at the point of these last two strips, the creator seems to have deliberately sparked this controversy, if this much venom can be spewed in what I imagined was a neutral space of a feel good comic, I have clearly been in denial that there is such a toxic divide in this country. I feel literally sick after reading so much hate and yes I am fearful for our country, no matter who wins there doesnt seem to be any middle ground to reconcile.

if your team wins, they played well; if your team loses, they ‘was cheated’.I am aghast that a simple comic strip that I imagine as a neutral ground for all, is now swept into the conspiracy maelstrom that seems to have gripped the USA. come up for air guys. maybe drop USA media and try the BBC or France 24 for some sanity and prospective. the world is burning figuratively and literally and we are consumed by bogeymen under the bed

what? not using your own bags at the store shame.. TJ has them for $1 a pop and they last years the real issue Ihere is the waste of all those plastic bags in the landfill to say nothing of the environmental cost of producing…..as everyone has pointed out—- the value of $$ is variable but $ for $ wage v prices, we are mostly better off than our parents in quality and quantity—- now let’s step back and work on saving this fragile planet before it is buried in plastic

so many cranky men and women this morning. I think this says it all. Arlo simply sees Janis as he always has, time has changed nothing for him. of course it does depend on what he says/ does next- a little verbal reassurance or a tender hug/…..

No idea where this is going but it is strangely prescient- thinking of the writer’s and actor’s strike. our creators need to be recognized and supported- surrounding the A list actors, etc -there are all the others who make our entertainment possible and who deserve just compensation and security. AJ is a writer at base and I am sure he knows their struggles. AI can surely come for cartoonists as well?.

The whole series is great though most people dont know but the first. If any one is still reading to their kids check them out… better than Harry and close second to Narnia. Audio is available on YouTube.

accepting that past wrongs need to be addressed- not a free for all, but an equal chance for good education and a living wage and a healthy environment and health care.- not just minorities have been disadvantaged and we need to sometimes through benefits, SNAP, medicaid. help those in need- and in the end it helps us all. I think that is a tenet observed by all religious faiths and the humanists among us.
