The most upmarket hotel I’ve ever stayed in welcomed small dogs – the leaflet I read said they’d never had a dog trash a room …whereas I suspect that they’d had serious damage from some humans. Which would you prefer to accommodate, a dog or a rock star?

We’re actually having a patch of glorious sunny weather – though I think some parts are getting thunderstorms. Maybe that’s what’s hit Fred and his pals.

Or even wilder, a woman president…

Same in English English … my phone has a ‘redial’ button. (it also has a ‘recall’ button but that means something else).

Ah – I live in a temperate maritime climate. People used to garage their cars in the old days when they used to rust, that’s why its a generational thing here I think.

I don’t know anyone under 60 who actually tries to put their car in the garage. Puzzles me why they still design houses with them rather than simply as large storage spaces.

Presumably ‘pantophobia’ includes the fear of pantos (which can be genuinely scary for little kids if you’ve got a good villain).

And the fear of pants ;-)

Apart from the Fred strip, the Daily Mail might be improved by being tossed onto the lawn and soaked.

Yes, of course our letters come in through the letterbox. Having to traipse outside to get the post if it’s raining is just uncivilized ;-). And newspapers…. I never could get used to the paper being tossed onto the front lawn when I lived in the US, often as not inadequately wrapped so it was sometimes useless and soggy. Maybe works ok in desert climates but not in Pennsylvania.

OTOH our letters are liable to be bitten as the dog enthusiastically helps them through the slot!
