Looks a bit like my kitchen this morning – with a dead bat in the middle of it.

Me too. We grew up listening to Paul Robeson, Harry Belafonte, and Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals. I spent many a road trip falling asleep in the back seat to my parents singing in harmony – wonderful memories.

When I was 13, I got my first horse, Royal. My parents signed me up for piano lessons about the same time. 40+ years later, I still have horses. I think the piano lessons lasted about 6 months and died a painful death.

Baby wipes for cleaning teats – no more rough chapped teats! :-) XXL dog coats work well for the bigger goats.

I remember being about Phoebe’s age – we’d go to the Modern on our way home from school and order a cup of coffee, which came in a thick white china cup and saucer. Lots of cream and sugar cubes, of course. We felt so grown up. :-)

I remember when you could just about make yourself sick on 25 cents worth of penny candy!

A few years ago, I was commuting to Toronto with a bunch of goat kids for an advertising photo shoot. As I had to get there early, I brought along Emily, my milking goat. She would settle down for the trip, but if we got stuck in traffic, she’d get up and look out the window at all the people sitting in cars. On the way home, once we were about five miles away, she’d come and stand between the front seats and look at the front window. Pretty sure she was saying “Are we there yet?”

That would depend on whether you consider unicorns to be more horse-like or goat-like (cloven hooves, beards . . .). Horses don’t really vomit, goats are ruminants and regurgitate cud.
