If a neighbor had witnessed this episode, he may have phoned Social Services. Yes, I know, grandpa meant no harm….he was having fun….but…..poor decision-making on his part. D.
I love this cartoon….however…it’s not realistic for a young mother to wear sound-cancelling headphones when her young toddler is up and about….too dangerous, imo. Would have been more realistic for her to don the headphones….with a sigh of relief….as soon as his head touched his pillow. Just sayin’…….D.
I think his smile is genuine. It must be depressing to have a mother whom no one trusts or likes. Many of the cartoons seem to depict him as a thief and seething with rage. Will be very disappointed if this turnaround in attitude is simply an act. Kfccanada
True! True! MItch was told to toe the party line ….and he did! A truly honorable man would have quit his position when faced with such a horrendous choice. Perhaps he could use this situation to become a) an agent for change in the Party or b) retired on a healthy pension with benefits. Hopefully, he’ll rethink his options.
Mitch was only doing his job! He did nothing wrong! Every senator has the right to free speech and to vote with his/her conscience. Voters do NOT buy the right to a ‘prejudiced’ vote. The legislation was merely empty words on a piece of paper that said nothing about the extensive medical rights that were about to be stripped from millions of unsuspecting voters. Not one single Republican forewarned their constituents that they were going to be deprived of almost all their medical funding and astronomically increased co-payments.The ‘turtle’ should be retired to a more peaceful setting or given a less ‘mean-spirited’ role to play in his Party.
At least they proved that they weren’t lemmings following a Pied Piper into voter- oblivion in the next election. If their constituents condemn them because they voted with the interests of their medical needs in mind, then, those voters deserve to be served by someone who really has money and glory driving their decisions.
The Republicans should have known that Senator McCain would do his utmost to ensure that this atrocious bill would not get passed. It became truly apparent that the Republican senators have little regard for the actual needs of their constituents. They did not ponder, for so much as a second, that the effects of their decision would mean almost instantaneous refusal by doctors and hospitals of medical coverage for the very ill US citizens. Truly truly sad!!!
Maybe the cartoon reminded someone that this could possibly happen to them……or has happened to them already….lolol. Reminds me of how I must look in the morning…..lolol
I wouldn’t trust Les for a second. Personally, imo, he’s making a sham effort to appear ‘a changed man’ to get close to Luanne.
Gad, It even snowed in Campbell River, BC…just the right kind of snow to build a snowman…..but not as much fun to shovel. Lolol
