Okay, so old old is President King supposed to be at this point?

I thought it was still Joanie Caucus. (Though why she would keep her ex-husband’s, Clinton’s last name, rather than her new married name or a maiden name, is a mystery to me.)

There were actually a few times that they referred to more than one child (of Joanie’s and Clinton’s). Once, I recall, was in (divorce) court, when there is a reference to, “the children.”

Ironically, I believe that this one didn’t make it in to the first book, “Still a Few Bugs in the System.”

I have many (most?) of the books, and it looks to me like every strip is not included in the books. When I look online, I can find strips I haven’t seen in the books I have.

SusanSunshine, great explanation. I’ve never quite figured out whether JJ had any siblings (besides her half-brother, Jeff), though. When she first came on the scene, she would refer to her, “kids” (plural), such as seen 22 Sep ‘72 (http://www.gocomics.com/doonesbury/1972/09/22#.Uvz64GRDvjg) and Clinton referred to their “youngest” daughter (26Sep72 – http://www.gocomics.com/doonesbury/1972/09/26#.Uvz9ymRDvjg). By the time we hit April ’73, there’s only reference to one child, though.

    > Look in the bottom of the left hand panel. This strip is dated 12-2 which makes it today’s.

Actually, I believe that the date you’re looking at is the current date the strip is published (or re-published), regardless of whether it’s a repeat.

If you look at the small vertical print (in this case between panels one and two), though, it will at least give the copyright year that the strip was originated (in this case 2013).

I don’t think it was ever stated that Mike and Kim moved. It just said they bought the property next door. They could have stayed in Seattle and owned two homes.

She was born in a strip in ‘92, and this rerun is in 2011. So if Doonesbury comic time keeps pace with real-life time (and there’s nothing to say that that’s so), then she would be about 19.
