“It is the spirit of the game, not the letter of the rules which is important. Never hold to the letter written, nor allow some barracks room lawyer to force quotations from the rule books upon you, if it goes against the obvious intent of the game. As you hew the line with respect to conformity to major systems and uniformity of play in general, also be certain the game is mastered by you and not by your players. Within the broad parameters given in the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons volumes, you are creator and final arbiter. By ordering things as they should be, the game as a whole first, you campaign next and your participants thereafter, you will be playing Advanced Dungeons & Dragons as it was meant to be.”

Okay – I know JMX is just a play on THX, but I have to wonder what the initials mean in this universe. ;-)

I’m with Helyna. I’ve been a geek for over 30 years, and have never heard the phrase ‘Sweek’. (Yes, I see it’s defined. I just have never heard ANY OTHER STAR WARS FAN refer to them as such.)

@TEMPLO S.U.D.: no, it’s not. And for all we know, she never WILL find boys interesting.

@ligtehnup: as a girl geek, I can relate. Hopefully, your area has a friendly sci fi/fantasy club, and there are hopefully kids in there her age.

“And when the steward of the feast did taste from the water of the pots, it had become wine. And they knew not whence it had come. But the servants did know, so they applauded loudly in the kitchen. And they said unto the Lord: ‘How the hell did you do that?’ And inquired of him: ‘Do you do children’s parties?’” – Rowan Atkinson (http://youtu.be/KN-8G0HCD5U)
