Does it mean more money that the states won’t put in your pension?

Yes, the problem with our schools isn’t wingnuts trying to starve them of funds, it’s teachers demanding overcrowded classrooms. Who is the idiot who’s taken over this once amusing strip?

Apparently quite a few here need their elementary school GED, which includes the author of the strip.

When I began reading the strip, I really enjoyed its sweet, gentle, mostly middle of the road humor that acknowledged a spectrum of viewpoints. Now it seems to have taken a very sharp right turn. Bring back the “real” characters, please. And, enough of the demonizing of teachers! Back in the day, I could not imagine teachers carrying in the classroom; that alone says volumes about our society, kids and teachers. Generally, teachers are folks who care about their students, to the point of paying for needed supplies out of their own pockets. Dedicated teachers still rule!

Relax. A democrat is in power, his policies are being implemented so they are ripe for satire. If a republican ever is elected again, both Scott and Ted will go back to ripping republicans. So have a nice calming tea and bask in the glory that is your president.

This is for night guant who yesterday claimed that rachel maddow was the most accurate “journalist” there was and dared me to find anything she said was incorrect.
1.She claimed that Romney was not releasing his taxes because he had not paid any in years. He then released them showing not only had he paid taxes but more than he needed to by not claiming all of his possible deductions.
2.She claimed that Ohio’s new law that puts some restrictions on abortion included “mandatory vaginal probing”. It does not.
3.She stated that Republicans where lying about Wisconsin’s budget shortfalls and that they actually had a surplus. They actually were running at a 137 million deficit.
4.She claims that Putin invaded the Ukraine because of Bush’s policy not because he wants he wants to bring back a Soviet style power block.
5.She claimed that a Pennsylvania voter ID law would block voters and used as an example a 92 year old Vivette Applewhite who was being denied the right to vote. The truth was that she had her voter ID card for a year before maddow even ran the story.
6.Stated about Sarah Palin “remember this is the same person who claims she can see Russia from her backyard”. Palin never stated this that was Tina Fey on Saturday night live.
7.She stated that Glen Beck believes that Sandy Hook did not happen. That it is a ploy to outlaw guns. Glen Beck has never said anything close to that.
8.She claims the only reason people want the fast and furious gun running investigated is because they are racist and appose having a black attorney general.
9.Claims that the country’s desire to investigate Benghazi is just a Republican conspiracy because we have a black president.
I can go on and on about” the most accurate journalist in America” but I don’t see the point because a pesky little thing like facts will not change nights mind.

OK, just read the strip’s disclaimer: “We may not be correct but we will always be right.” So long, Carmen and Winslow. It was nice knowing you for a while.

So your 5th grade teacher was just in it for the money? Really? Ms. Smith, who comforted you when you were bullied, taught you how to (finally) organize your ideas, and showed you what happens when you mix vinegar and baking powder is a union stooge? Really? This comic (as someone else wrote) used to be a somewhat centrist, gentle poke at all political idiocy. This has crossed the line. How mean and disrespectful of dedicated teachers everywhere.

Prickly City offers a conservative perspective on political and social events within an ongoing storyline. As Carmen might say, “We may not be correct but we will always be right.”
    Uh, I don’t think that’s really a disclaimer…

Not the right attitude. The correct one would be to educate her as to why obama’s socialist ideas are destroying America.

Please point out where schools have been starved of funds. In reality, schools are spending 3-4x as much per student since the 70’s after adjusting for inflation. The average number of students per class is almost half what it was in the 70’s.

Somehow, student performance has not improved despite this increase, yet we are told that more money needs to be thrown at schools & salaries.

Look at the ongoing voucher scam campaign. It’s all about defunding public schools.

Here’s a big hint: satire is funny.

Ah, no. Its about giving parents a choice. I thought progressives were all in favor of choice.
