Scott, how did you know? You introduced Kevin—gosh, how long ago (I’m too lazy to look it up)—and magically it has come to pass. You are a clairvoyant! Brilliant work! Thanks.

So, protecting the average American citizen from those who would harm him/her evilly is somehow an evil in itself?

To say nothing of the fact that with all the ranting and raving anti governmental types on this site, I have yet to see where any of them is even slightly paid attention to by the government itself. The only thing that I have seen is where some have gotten so stirred up as to be banned from this site. And that was by the pure private interests that run this site!!

The cartoon says what many of us see. Unfortunately there are still too many who do not see.

If you try to look at the upside, blog hits are way up, unfortunately, it is mostly governments building databases.

Homeland Security was started by whom?

We need more than two parties to represent us.

coughBushcough And let’s not forget the Patriot Act that came WELL before the current administration. It seems some of the Prez’s anti-fans forget history the moment it happens, when it is convenient.

    How much is too much?

I would certainly hope that our government was doing everything in it’s power to protect the citizens of this country

I do also agree that there are many things the government is capable of doing in the name of protecting us that I would not approve of

@Ionizer, the favorite excuse of “progressives” is “It’s Bush’s fault.” The second favorite excuse it “Bush did it, too, so it must be OK.”

Glad I got the hat and the bumper sticker back when all this started……… Most people when they see them, don’t have a clue.

    Why doesn’t obama kill it?

I agree. I have three vehicles, potentially deadly but I’ve never run over anyone. People confuse capability with intent. I did run over myself with my ATV, but that’s another story. :-D

While partisan types point fingers and blame each other (ignoring the planks in their own eyes), the erosion of our freedoms has become a group effort. A mix fear and greed with a dash of evil.

“We just don’t excuse Obama for continuing it, like the libs do.”

If you haven’t seen any liberals who are critical of the current administration for it’s policies, you haven’t been paying attention…willfully.

So if they decide that listening devices should be in every device, open to the NSA etc for “security reason” you will agree? Where does it end? But then we have more to fear from our own govt and their corporate allies than any foreign enemy by a long shot.

Do you really feel any safer? I feel less.

You mean more than the Plutocrat’s parties, don’t you? But then until the Plutocrats are put in their place they will continue to wreck what is left of our govt and society since they won’t stop till they run it all.
