As a good Leftite, Winslow should have let her have it, she being a minority female.

Ah, conservatives. Stealing other people’s stuff and then claiming the win in their theft.

Nice try, but that is a liberal and progressive trait. By the way liberals are not supportive of liberties, and are not progressive, they are regressive.

Sorry to spoil you hallucination but the Progressives do progress civil liberties, Conservatives have mostly wanted to Regress us to before Blacks and Women that the right to vote etc. So you are wrong as per usual.

So! That’s why most DEMOCRATS voted against the Civil Rights Act; like Al Gore’s daddy…

you and the others sound like a bunch of 7th grade girls. Grow up and stop the stupid bickering. And tell your buddies in the congress the same goes for them.

She did not say it was his, she said he won in knowing what the word means. Winslow merely accused her of stealing it. A liberal trait.

Real history hurts, doesn’t it. Go look up which party fought tooth and nail against Civil Rights and which party was praised by LBJ for helping to pass Civil Rights legislation (HINT: it was NOT the Democrat Party LBJ was praising).

Re: Dems and the Civil Rights act – That was, you are aware, nearly fifty years ago, in the days of the Solid South? LBJ knew, and said, he’d lose the South for that. Nixon, in a bold Real Politic move, took the Republican Party against Civil Rights to capture the Southern vote, and look! The right still rules in the South.
Actual, fully understood history hurts, doesn’t it, C.W. Sprague?

The parties pretty much flipped on social issues in the 60s and 70s. Nixon won the south by getting the Democrats there to not support a Catholic (though JFK still won the election).
    -
The parties are still similar on economics since the 1920s, but flipped on social issues.
    -
Why would the south have wanted progressive economic issues and government assistance? Because they’re the ones that use it! Somehow, the Republicans have used religion and race to get them to vote against their own well-being.

Omg, don’t you people ever get tired of bickering. If either of you dropped dead tomorrow. No one in power would give a damn, yet you devote so much of your time and energy talking about this. Get a life, kiss your spouse, play with your kids, because in the big scheme of things, your really pretty small.

That was then, this is now. The GOP in trumpetting"Voter ID" laws admitted, at least in PA, that the purpose was to stop Dems from voting

Check out a little history and figure out which party ended slavery, pioneered civil rights legislation, and has always been an advocate for civil rights.

Then read up on which party fought to preserve slavery, founded the Ku Klux Klan, invented segregation, still treats minorities like slaves on an intellectual plantation, and is engaged in black genocide in the abortion mills.

Here’s a “Head Start” which I hope will be more effective than the government’s failed offering:
