    Almost certainly, since otherwise they’d have to be civil-service jobs no one can be fired from, and with huge long-term pension liabilities. And what sane electorate would stand for that?

    The scary thing is, our real politicians subscribe to the idea that all we need is more consumption to spend our way to prosperity (as if that were even possible). Kevin’s at least talking about production.

    No they wanted to help eliminate the middle class which Carter (who started it) and Reagan who pushed it along and boosted it.
