The Old Wolf

On a re-run strip like this one, it gives a strange sense of temporal disconnect to read about “current events” in the wrong time frame. Still, today’s strip provides both cause for reflection and a good punchline.

Jeez, that room is much messier than my room was when I was a teenager back in the early 1960’s. I never took food into my room. However, it was floor to ceiling electronic equipment in various states of repair. My TV was one that I found in the garbage and fixed. It was on the top shelf of the closet and not in a cabinet, just bare with its insides exposed. I had a BIG speaker in the corner for all the radios. My younger sister was afraid to enter my room. She feared getting zapped.

The text is illegible. I’m gonna write to Gomics and ask them to cancel this strip.

I can read it just fine. Don’t be such a jackwad.

Jeri’s room should be labelled a toxic waste site.

-————-P1-Teena:They say that our world changed four years ago.
-
P2-Teena:After our war of independence we were protected by two great oceans.
-
P3-Teena:But the Sept. 11 attacks on our country showed us that we, like any free and open nation, are vulnerable and must be wary & prepared.
-
P4-Someone said ‘God created the world but it is the Devil that keeps it going.’ I think that is cynical but true, if we resign and lose faith.
-
P5-Teena:The important thing to do is to live our lives. But not let down our guard.
-
P6-Jeri: So that is why you searched my room?
Teena: Mom authorized a temporary suspension of your right to privacy so we could remove these biohazards.

Preteena is very difficult, and sometimes impossible, to read on Sundays when a large comic is fit into a small space, so why is it that Preteena is the ONLY comic for which the magnifier function is ALWAYS disabled?
Why have a magnifier at all when it is only available for comics that don’t need it, and never available for those that do?

Your information is faulty. There re others that have expansion and clarity problems.
