    Yeah, but wouldn’t it have been great to sit up in a cool, leafy tree, far away from the bustle on the ground and with a panoramic view?
    Sigh!

    We didn’t have any trees big enough for a fort, so my older brothers and I built ground forts out of whatever was at hand.
    Had a great one built from a big sign that blew down.
    Think a local construction site may have contributed some materials, too.
    My brothers were pretty “resourceful”.

    i had a friend when i was 15 who’s dad helped him build a tree house, it had a couch,a small fridge and a tv. we used to go there and play poker every saturday night

    we built an underground fort in Virginia in a vacant lot. We tested it by jumping up and down on top of it, but the cops came by and tore it apart, claiming that it was unsafe because someone might fall in it. We were in our mid-teens and I really don’t think that it would have fallen in… We weren’t lightweights….
