Although cartoon physics, where does one get the boards, nails and hammer without going to the hardware store?

So … in a cartoon strip with a talking dog … you’re worried about where he got the boards and nails?

With Poncho around, he probably has a supply in every room of the house.

Don’t kick your dog, Chazz. [I don’t recall him doing that before.]

OK. This is NOT good! No wonder Poncho resents Carmen! Didn’t Poncho sleep with Chazz pre Carmen? Should ’t little doggies at least sleep in the same room? And Chazz! Poncho is scared and you are NOT caring? This is NOT good!

Where are the cats? Seems the cats would’ve been hogging every bit of spare space on that bed.

I don’t know. My husband seems to have an endless supply of scrap boards and nails at his disposal.

He is using ‘Plankie’, Poncho’s board he used to carry around, from the porch he was born under.
