Yes, it’s been done. Do you suppose they will run into
2 cows and a chicken? (see that
strip’s last several days))

Clever spoof on the Tony Curtis movie from the 1950s.

Cute; they’re taking each other for walkies,

Hehe, they’re so funny! These are the first pictures of the (or a cat) showing any emotion. Just look at those two desparate faces!

Now that’s a first – a modest dog and a modest cat!
(I thought Poncho would have to hold it in until he found a fire hydrant…)
cdward said, about 1 month ago
Yeah, but the cat’s using a tree and Poncho’s using a bush?

Maybe from all this Poncho will learn cats aren’t so bad.

I hope Poncho and the Cat find a phone and call Chaz immediately. Was the cat’s name ever mentioned?

Readyhere - Yep the Defiant Ones with Sidney Poitier and Tony Curtis. I thought the same thing when I read the strip.

If this followes along with the movie,Don’t they get in a fight?
Cackles said, about 1 month ago
I’ve never seen The Defiant Ones, so I suppose it could be making that reference as well, but the rock hammer and Rita Hayworth joke from the past few strips have been pretty clear allusions to The Shawshank Redemption.

Ahh… See, he confused me by switching from Shawshank Redemption (which I have seen) to Defiant Ones (which I have not seen) but one look at the cover art on IMDB and I see that you are correct, cleokaya. Thanks for the tip, it makes the strip funnier.

cdward,
Yes! The Cta thinks its a Dog, Poncho thinks he’s a Cat.

I like Poncho, but I am totally lost! I saw those movies but I am still not seeing it. I do like their faces in the strip. I guess the water is cold. burrrrrrrr.

Oh man, Tony Curtis ripped off that Laurence Fishburne/Steven Baldwin movie, “Fled” (1996) ?? :^P
