    This is so stupid…The cans are just big enough for a dinner, so who cares what the label says…I had a can of soup for dinner tonight, just added some broc…and called it a serving for one…

    I’m beginning to suspect the serving size on those cans is set up where you have other items from different food groups and altogether, that constitutes a full meal…… or for us reg’lar folk, the whole can with the added broc; makes the full amount target as set by USDA or some agency or other.

    The reason for making the servings ridiculously small (on the label) is so they can make the percentages of the things ‘not good for you’ smaller & look better IE: sodium, fat, sugar, etc.

    Serving size is for full grown adults who weigh 98 pounds or less who feel full drinking one 8 ounce glass of water ! !

    That’s one serving of sodium/fat enriched chili on top a 1/4 lb. nitrate laced hot dog served in a wonderfully glutenous bun! Mmmm, mmm, good!

    The above link will clearly demonstrate the difference of the actual amount of food in 200 calories. The lesson is: processed food will NOT give you enough food to fill full. Raw veggies and fruit will be more than enough to fill full.
    The calories versus # of serving sizes is a MARKETING PLOY and nothing more.
    Don’t forget that there is BIG difference between GOOD and BAD calories.

    Better to make your own soups and other meals. Not only do you get what you want in it. NO preservatives.

    The USA is known for over stuffing their meals. Why when you visit Europe you are shocked at the “small” portions. And you will notice very few fat Europeans too. One in three Americans are listed as obese.
