…you know you’re a “plugger” of you prefer the drive-in to the multi-plexes.

I just saw a thing on the news last night. Studios want drive-ins to switch to digital, but most of them can’t afford it.

The first movie I saw in a theater, when it first came out, was Mary Poppins.

Who remembers films at the drive-in?
My grandfather referred to it as “the passion pit”.

Town East 6, here. Back when they had a soda machine that dispensed a cup, ice, and a mixture of water and syrup. Sometimes even in that order…

True, one of the last drive-ins in Oregon is making the switch. They already have digital projectors for their two enclosed theaters. The drive-in projector is bigger and runs hotter. They’ll have to rebuild the booth with better cooling and air filtration systems.

The last movie I went and watched in a theater is now on a classic channel.

It was one of the first movies I saw in person. I was the same age as Bobby Driscoll and Luanna Patten. Copies are still sold in Europe and I got myself a converted copy a few years ago. It still brings up the the same emotions.

If that’s “Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner?” I did see it in the theater. With my parents not a date.

My first not a Saturday matinee movie/drive-in movie was “Goldfinger”. Still the best Bond movie.
