I always pick up pennys…they are suposed to be lucky if the head is up…who knows…When I found them I’d throw them in the back of my truck bed, I used to have…One day someone stole all the pennys when I went into the store, there were maybe 15 at the most…There are some real freaks out there in the real world…

Pennies are worth almost three cents. But, it’s a felony to melt them down.

And luckier still when they can stand back up.

I picked up one yesterday. Someone (50-ish) claimed “kids today wouldn’t even pick one up.” I informed him that those of his generation didn’t either. Being a “Depression Baby”, I do.

It can sometimes be embarrassing to pick one up in front of people, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Trump says he picks up pennies off the ground. And he says he’s worth 8 billion, though experts say it more like 200 million.

Someone told me he always picked them up because God’s
name was on them and It wasn’t good to leave them in the dirt.

When I was in PT for my bad back, I was continually asked, “on a scale of 1 – 10, how much does it hurt?”
I would reply that if I dropped something worth less than $20, I wouldn’t even attempt to pick it up. They got the message.

That is pre- 1982 pennies. They are NOT copper any more. If you want copper, nickles are 75% copper.

I still pick them up. Usually at the 7-11. Found a dime the other day at Wendy’s.

“A penny saved is a penny earned”. Ben Franklin.

Total found in forty years= $5.75.

    Oh well,

I was at a bus stop recently when a young guy dropped a 2 pence piece on the ground. He looked at it and shrugged his shoulders. I remarked that one day he might be 2p short of the price of a pint. Another person there agreed. The young guy thought, then retrieved his money.

I was walking through a hardware store about a year ago, and there, right in front of the bolts and screws in the middle of the aisle was a fifty dollar bill. Being the honest Plugger that I am, I knew someone would be looking for it. When I couldn’t find the “loser” I turned it in at Customer Service. They said they would put it in a safe box for 30 days, but my guess is, the two of them probably went out for drinks and
    dinner after work.
