Oh, boy. Another problem would be cell phone’s battery goes dead as well as not enough change to use a pay phone or to ride a bus.

Been there done that…That is one good thing about having a cell phone…when that happened to me years ago I had to find a store to call for a tow…Not many people want to give your car a jump…

Yes, Gary (and Donnie), especially if you are a lady plugger. After about a hour locked in my dead car, mall security came by and helped. So much for last minute Christmas shopping.

HOW ABOUT HAVING A SPARE BATTERY AS A BACKUP. MY PARENTS OWN A V.W. BEETLE IN THE 1960’S AND WHEN THE CAR DID NOT START DO TO A WEAK BATTERY, THEY WOULD PUT THE JUMPER CABLES ON THE SPARE BATTERY TO START THE ENGINE.

@gary hunter
VW Camper-Bus could do that too (if you got the ‘optional’ 2nd battery for the Refridgerator)

Back in the day even parking on a hill could be of help for starting, but now, is it really helpful to have keyless entry, electric locks and all that convenience that depend on a battery? Sure hope the mall is still open so I can buy a cell phone.

…and always back into the parking spot or pull through if there’s an open one in front (if you can). That way they can pull right up close, engine to engine and the cables will reach.

They now have battery backup devices with compressors that eliminate this altogether. Even pluggers can buy one.

Where will you find this “pay phone” you are speaking of? As a plugger, I know what they were. But good luck finding one today!

But listen to the sound of the crickets. Isn’t that soothing?
david_42 said, 4 months ago
Not a problem. There’s always some $250,000 RV parked overnight to save a $20 park fee!
