Be sure to not raise the cane to create more cain, or you may end up in pain…then things won’t seem the same.

My Gran uses two canes in the winter - that must make her the Plugger Queen!

The hefty toon that looks my aunt dosen’t need one. She stays fit by figure-skating!

Every time I think I “get” the gist of this strip, it up and changes on me. At first I thought, “Oh, Pluggers are Republicans.” Then it was, “Oh, Pluggers are blue collar animals.” Then it was, “Oh, Pluggers are rednecks.” Now it seems to be, “Oh, Pluggers are old farts.”

I guess I’ll just never understand.

Todd there is no politics involved in this strip, the plugger is the common man/woman, a combination of blue collar worker, redneck, old farts all roled into one! aT least that’s my spin on it!

And so sad, this one, but true, unless you are one of the lucky ones that lives long and stays healthy!

Todd - Have you ever thought of reading the About Pluggers blurb beside the comic?
It contains as good of a definition as you’re going to get.

I never “raised Cain;” but, I started using a cane last July.

“Raise Cain” is a back formation of what is found in Genesis 4:8 in the King James Version Bible.

And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

I live in Baton Rouge, so my first thought was of chicken fingers :-)

Perhaps a reminder to love your Cain if you are Abel?

I agree with Dry & Dr. Toon, it’s just a comic! We don’t need any biblical passages or references, either, Joe Allen

I’m with Joe Allen as well. The cartoon did make reference to the word “Cain” which is indeed taken from the Bible (spelled with a cap). A Biblical reference is proper for the sake of those who might not be familiar with the statement made.
