What we need – especially now – is “forever tax stamps.”

Only a stupid government agency would sell something at today’s costs to be used at tomorrow’s costs. But our taxes will continue to bail out USPS’s foolish schemes.
Let UPS and FedEx deliver mail! USPS would fold like a lawn chair if it had competition.

USPS DOES have competition: It’s called e-mail. LOL

If the United State Postal Service (USPS) would require the profit-making big businesses pay full price for 1st Class postage instead of half or less than half price, they wouldn’t have to cut back in services nor have to close the smaller branch Post Offices.
I know about the 1/2 price on 1st Class business mailings because sometimes their postage meters print the actual postage price for pre-sorted mail where the stamp would be.

Good point Joe Allen. My brother works for USPS with just under two years left to qualify for early retirement. Hope he makes it. Will ask about that half price business although I suspect it’s a major bulk discount thing that gets the price down. Get a meter and tell them you’ll be doing between 10 and 20 thousand mailings a year and see what kind of price break you get.

I stocked up at Costco before they went up to 44 cents. I was able to buy 100 Stamps for $21.75, they’re now $23.75. for 100 Stamps
I have enough to last about 5 years.
I rarely use them.
