    In my city IF you find parking Of ANY kind, Ya look around 1) to make sure it’s not street cleaning or the like. 2) what you can do in the area

    In NYC, if you park at a meter, you MUST activate the meter with a quarter whether the meter has time left on it or not. If you get out of your car, look at the meter, see that it has time on it and walk away, you risk a summons which, in NYC, is really expensive ($50 or more). Friend of mine found that out the hard way…and every time I see that there’s time left on the meter I make-believe that I put a quarter in, just in case a meter person is watching…
