Good thing I don’t have a quadruped for a pet in my place where some incident like that could happen.

Do that a few more times and you couldn’t DRAG Roscoe near it.

I remember when recliners had levers that made closing easy. But I guess that’s just too much to ask for these days. Not only do you have to kick the snot out of these footrests, but they fight back!

Opal, if you don’t put the foot rest down, Earl doesn’t have to put the toilet seat down..

It’s amazing what you can find under sofas.

Actually the first recliner to come into my house didn’t have a lever or anything, you just pushed back and then pushed down with your legs to sit up again. If things got worn it wouldn’t stay down. The next recliner had a little brass knob that locked and unlocked the mechanism. When my mother moved into my home she brought her recliner which has a handle. My brother recently bought a new one which – I kid you not – has an electric motor to take you back and then up again.

I like those electric ones. And if it’s too far away from the wall you can use batteries.

Whomever last sat in the recliner left the leg rest up as they would check for anyone who is under before yelps are heard as they didn’t know the family pet was under the recliner.
