Take him for a long walk. He’ll come home without squeaking.

I thought Opal prefers the cat while Earl is a dog-person.

For years, my dog, who’d been born deaf, would attack the squeaker in any toy that had one. I never figured out why. He couldn’t hear it but that gizmo inside the toy annoyed him no end. Once it stopped squeaking, or had been removed/destroyed, he had no interest in the toy.

Your dog may not have been totally deaf than he may have been able to hear very high pitched sounds that the squekers made.

My dog will work and work until she gets the squeaker out. Then she’ll leave it in the middle of the floor, as testimony to her victory. Meanwhile, she’ll continue to gut the creature until there’s nothing left but mounds of fluff and an empty carcass. She would play with the skin forever if I didn’t throw it away.

Boots likes to gut the toy and chew on the squeaker. Then he turn the toy inside out. He’s very methodical. By the way we don’t let him eat the squeaker, we get it away from him as soon as possible. It’s a little scary when he’s gutting the toy you can see the wild ancestor in him.

Reminds me of my daughter’s male dog Golden Retriever, he got a hold of my nylon knee high and I wonder why I was running low, I was still working part time, six pairs disappeared, he ate them had the longest poo to come out.

Dog ate the keyless car starter fob… the only way to start the car for about a week was to have the mutt in the front seat…
