Yah, and remember if the Queen is not happy no one is happy…

She may wish to rethink that comment . . . I remember that I read that many queens lost their heads . . . not to be giving Earl any ideas.

It looks like she waited for Nelson to leave before she said that.

But an Emperor out-ranks a Queen.

So? Won’t you agree that an Earl is subordinate to a Queen?

“Ba11s” said the Queen. “If I had two, I’d be king.”

“Salve regina sans misericorde.” (— maybe, it’s been a long time since my high school Latin.)

    Once a Queen, always a Queen but once a Knight’s enough !
( ooops ! I think that refers to something else. )

oh yeah? well “ad drum qui laetificat juventutem meam” to you too!
(knew those years as an alter boy would come in handy—-except for the minor fact that even when I was reciting them, I had no clue then and have not a clue now as to their English translation)

Introibo ad altare Dei. Ad Deum qui laetificat juventutem meam. (“I will go in to the altar of God; to God, the joy of my youth.”)

Thanks for your comment. You got me all sentimental, because I served Mass, too, from Fifth Grade on. My first week with the other boy was a disaster and the pastor yelled at us (seemed like it, anyway). I was devastated, and went home and STUDIED and MEMORIZED, and by the end of the week we were much better, and Father complimented us.

Latin liturgy went over to English in our archdiocese in 1965, but I still remember it with fondness. Latin sounded so noble and mysterious. I also played organ at Latin masses for a while, and occasionally bring out the music to play it on my synthesizer — Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Angus Dei — in versions of harmonized Gregorian Chant according to the various feast days.
    .
That was long, long ago – but it still lives in my memory. Sorry to take up so much space about it.
