I thought I had clicked onto “Bambi” I mistook Flo for “Thumper”

A charlyhorse isn’t going to be relieved like that. She needs to stand up and bear all her weight on it. It’ll hurt like all get out but then it’ll go away. I think they’re brought on by dehydration.

Quick, eat a banana for the potassium, Opal! The Charley Horse pain will abruptly stop.

I know exactly what you mean.
They say it’s caused due to a lack of potassium.
All I know is that it causes a lack of sleep !

    re: potassium
    .
I get cramps if I don’t eat a tsp of potassium chloride daily. YICK! When I skip for a couple of days, I get horrific cramps in the legs, neck, and jaw.

First charlie horse I ever got was in basic training so naturally I relate that malady to over exercise. Now that I think of it…..haven’t had one in years. :)

I recommend you try yerba mate tea. It’s full of magnesium, potassium and other good stuff. I’ve been drinking it for about 4 months and the night cramps are a thing of the past. It’s a bit of an acquired taste but if you add mint or orange zest it’s good. You can make it cold, too, they call it terere.
