There’s a message in there. Take it from an 81 year old.

Flowers can’t complain either Earl.

We all need a little watering and nurturing – droopy as we may be.

African Violets…first they tell you to keep them in a damp, humid environment, then they tell you never to get the leaves wet. And yet in Nature they live near waterfalls etc. One of the mysteries of life.

@Linguist
Plants and marriages both need nurturing or they will die. My ex, has a collection of dead plants on her window sill. They only got watered if I did it. The marriage was pretty much the same.

Whose plant is it? I never water plants because A) I don’t buy them or want them and B) my wife knows I would probably drown them.

You have to be careful with African violets. I wouldn’t want Earl to water them. I can kill them myself.

The greatest bit of wisdom I ever heard from a horticulturist about house plants: They mostly succumb to one thing – overwatering.
It seems Opal can’t exercise control over her house plant, so she will try to control Earl. So far, he doesn’t buy into her attempt.

It could be overwatered so the roots rotted. That would make it droop too. It’s better to leave the watering to the person who knows how to do it.

We all droop once in a while…

That may be so, Earl.
But you’re still as funny and cool as ever!
