   Parents are the same the world over…I’ve asked my students for those “parent phrases” and they all agree on several. “You think I have a tree that grows money?” “Young man, do you know what time it is?” and then the questions that are not questions: “Would you like to…(clean your room etc)?” meaning go do it…“Do you want me to smack you?” and the classic one you should never answer either way…“Do you think I’m stupid?”

   Because he’s so slow everyone else has finished, and Grandma has cleared the table around his place to try and encourage him to eat up. My sister was one of the slowest eaters on record as a child. Now, she just eats constantly and weighs about 300 lbs. I guess she got over it.
