What I can’t stand is when someone’s obituary has a photo that was taken 60 or 70 years ago. Doesn’t the family have a picture that was taken during THIS century?

Seems odd Opal didn’t say “your Dad” instead of “Earl.”

Ashburn…. often the deceased has previously expressed a desire, or the family feels that he or she would have preferred, to be remembered in the prime of life….

    My father died at 90…
most of the people who knew him in THIS century met him in an Alzheimer’s residence, when he was only a shell of what he had been…
For his memorial we chose a WWII era photo we knew he liked and identified with.

My mom sometimes says “Karl” instead of dad.

Also, my thoughts on this strip? Morbid much? Geez. Not a great strip for a Monday!

I noticed myself when my mom talks about my dad, who is gone, she refers to her dad. Lives life in the past a lot more. She is 87. She does not like her picture taken.

sorry, but there is nothing numerous in today’s comic, some one pre-occupied with his own death is not funny.

Yeah! People in my area live to be 95, 100, 105 and I guess they stopped posing for pictures about the time the Brownie went off the market.
