If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. A maxim much more appreciated once you’re on a fixed income.

My mom still has an old console tv in the porch. Had to replace it because the picture had faded to the point that you couldn’t watch it in the daytime without drawing the curtains. She couldn’t part with it because it was such a beautiful piece of furniture. You’ll never hear anyone saying that about a flat screen.

The flat screen sets do have a better picture. That doesn’t mean the show itself is better.

I have an axe that belonged to Abe Lincoln. Of course its’ had two new heads and three new handles since he used it!

If I traded my old TV in for a flatscreen where would I place the multi-system VCR, the double VCR and DVD recorder that’s on top of that and the multi-system DVD player that rests on that?
Fusnr said, 11 months ago
The TV store will show you how .

I have the same axe, but mine belonged to George Washington!

What’s the point of an HD screen if you have SD eyes?

And I think THAT is the theme of this entire strip. It’s a good one.

Don’t see the need to buy the newest or the best if what I have is working for me
Even if the things I have wear out or beak I don’t buy the newest or the best, those are also the priciest

My wife loves to shop, but now that she’s a homeowner, her priorities have changed, fewer toys, more edible landscaping.

An old television that has lasted 20 years versus a new television that might last 2 years. Hard choice ;-) Given what is on television read a book or go to the internet.
