I read this once and it stuck with me; if you are bored, it’s because YOU are being boring. If you don’t want to be bored, go DO something.

I’ve considered that a guiding light in my life, but as long as these a book I haven’t read, I won’t be bored.

Cats aren’t boring and besides pets are not solely used for entertainment purposes alone.

Animal companions, like human ones, are good for giving you (and them, actually) someone else to interact with. That’s what keeps you from going completely stale and dead on the inside.
    .
Now, fish aren’t terribly interactive — reptiles are a little more so. But with dogs, cats, or birds, the interaction kicks into high gear…and they can be less of a high-maintenance chore than, you know, humans. :J
