Good ole Earl, taking credit where none is due. All for the joy of irritating Opal.

That’s what he just said, Opal! Or didn’t you want to cross it in the first place? Guess you found your way back, though.

And that’s a bad thing? He can sleep on the couch and fantasize about Blondie without interuption from Opal.

That’s not a bad thought BC.

Sleep on the couch for helping her across the street. She’d be out on her ear.

To get to the Boy Scout to ask for help
So she could get across safely from Earl
Because he would have charged her a buck

Thousands of high schools have been making volunteering mandatory for some years now. No joke! If you don’t volunteer up to school district standards, you can’t graduate!

“Voluntary” my eye! And now many colleges are starting it. Once an entire generation has been propagandized in school, then they can start making it mandatory for the rest of us. Imagine getting something like your jury duty summons but for carrying bedpans or picking up trash by the road. Can’t happen? Twenty years ago nobody would have believed there could be “mandatory volunteering” as a graduation requirement.

“mandatory volunteering” is the ultimate oxymoron!
