And Opal’s closet is full of polka-dot blouses. I thing it’s time for her to head for Wal-Mart for something new and to… Live better. Save money.

Yep. Millions upon millions of good folk shop at Wal-Mart because thrift stores are better. Yeah, right!
And of course that’s also the reason why Wal-Mart is the single most successful company in the history of the world!

You can’t spell “life” without “if.” Also, “lie” and “fie.”

True, there will always be plenty of ands and buts to balance things out!

Fish Stix,
Do you agree nearly all Wal-Mart clothing & shoes come from China? Is this preferable to thrift store American made items? I think not! Support AmVets & Goodwill, among many other organizations, who have thrift stores to keep them up and running. Also some really great Consignment stores everywhere. Far better than creating even more national debt to China, hey?

Life is file too! Have a great day out there. May Earl and Opal live forever

Technically, there is only one IF in LIFE.
EarlWash said, about 1 month ago
CJ said it well. Wal-Mart also makes their profits off the backs of their under 32 hour week, underpaid employees.
Things there became quite different after Sam (the all American man) died. Sad indeed.
You figure it right…I don’t go there. My principles trump any possible savings.

Yo! Whoever mentioned about Wal Mart. I don’t care what you all think about the things at Wal Mart but I do care that I need to work and earn as much as I can for my darnest cost of living. If I do not work at the job, I would be living on the street. No way! I must live under my own roof and take care of my financial budget to pay the bills. I am a hearing impaired and I cannot have the SSI or SSDI because the amount is too small to meet my financial budget to pay the bills. Working at Wal mart is better than nothing!
Have a nice day! :-)

Happy Thanksgiving Canada.
Also there are a lot of merchandise Wal-Mart has discountined.
We have been going to a place like Aldis different. Lower prices then Wal-Mart, although may not carry a bigger variety but then Wal-Mart has cut back.
I’ve been to Goodwill stores and a lot of clothes have to be repaired and not to much in my size.

Racecar is the same, both forward and back
But life is something you have to hack
don’t care about the ifs, ands, or butts
To go thru it takes a lot of guts
And some of the weak one just might crack
Rhubarbed said, about 1 month ago
I wanna live a life with no “if” only.
Have to say, I save Pickles to read last because it’s been a favorite for years. It’s comic dessert.
And don’t shop at Wal-Mart… there will be jobs elsewhere because for every two created at Wal-Mart three jobs are lost in other parts of the community. It’s a destructive economic cannibalism all for bleeep that doesn’t work, falls apart or makes you fat. All that costs more in the end.

You all described perfectly my reasons for not shopping at Walmart. No need to add to it. I’m sorry Wildmustang you have to work there. You can verify that the workers are treated miserably since you are one of them. I hope you can get a better job at some time in the future.
EarlWash said, about 1 month ago
I agree Macushlalondra.
Wildmustang, we are not criticising you nor any of your fellow employees, only the corporate heads. They are the ones who have earned the the recognition of being shameful.
I commend you Wildmustang, for your fortitude for working where ever you need for the present time. For a person with your drive, you will definately improve yourself at another place in time. You deserve much better. Be vigil…it will happen.

Wal-Mart!
Build one anywhere and people will come from miles around by the thousands to spend millions of dollars - every single one of them do so voluntairly!.
When they advertise for help for that new store, people form a line around the block to sign up. Every one of them do so voluntairly!
Wal-Mart causes small businesses who cannot compete to shut down. As did Henry Ford cause buggy whip makers to shut down. And we should still be subsidizing buggy whip makers?! Cars are unfair!?
If you don’t shop at Wal-Mart that’s fine. But the whining gets pretty old - especially when the whining includes the implicit suggestion that one feels themselves too sophisticated to shop there. How shallow can one get?!
Rhubarbed said, about 1 month ago
Pfft! So by calling us shallow then we’ll be shamed into shopping against the best interest of everyone involved except the Walton family and the politicians they buy? That’s just sad Wal-Mart has to resort to that tactic to sell their junk.
Why do other businesses close? Because Wal-Mart is the one getting the tax breaks and subsidies the smaller places don’t. Why are we subsidizing Wal-Street? So the Waltons can make billions each year of which a few million pays for lobbying and crooked politicians that get them several million more all of which makes it harder on their competition (you know, the ones that actually pay taxes that subsidize the Wal-Marts).
I don’t know how it’s “voluntairy” if there are no other jobs to have since Wal-Mart unfairly caused the other places that paid better to close and since Wal-Mart has such low pay and terrible benefits causes their employees to have to rely on governmental assistance in yet another business subsidy.
If anyone is shallow it’s Wal-Mart.
