Well played Earl!

If the lint in the lint trap is soggy, that’s the washer.

When my mom was laid up a few years ago dad made an exact drawing of the washer and dryer controls and then had her write out specific, detailed, instructions. He still had to check back once or twice to make sure everything was going right. Mom thought it was hilarious.

cadgyod, kudos to your dad for his willingness to help. As for Earl and Opal she can go into the laundry room with him since her feet aren’t what’s broken. She can give him instructions on what to do and watch him do it.

Now when we need remote help, we grab our digital camera. Usually, I’m the one who takes the picture and emails it to my hubby. (He works 90 minutes away.) Fixed the hot water heater that way, because he noticed a reset button in the picture that I didn’t realize was a button. Easier than drawing a picture!

Atta boy Earl. Keep asking those kind of questions and she’ll eventually get up and do it herself.

Macushlalondra, your comment makes sense! So Earl can do that.

Poor Earl! My mom taught me how to do many household things, including ironing, cooking, laundry, etc. If Earl’s mom had taught him to do laundry, he wouldn’t be able to find the ringer!! <:-)

Well, at least he’s TRYING today instead of asking her to fix breakfast for him! He’ll figure it out!

Face it- You will have to supervise every step of the way for Earl to do ANY laundry. But don’t give in–have him do it!!!!!!!
