We’ve seen these tentacles before. Back in October 3-4, 2002, Pib was pulled back into the Hot Place. I wonder if Dru has the mojo and moxie to stand up to her inquisitors? It doesn’t seem that either Roger or Satori will be able to help. I guess that leaves Nat and Pib. Will an accordion work in H*ll, or will other musical instruments work?
If you haven’t voted for our drama troupe’s company name or first production yet, please drop by Pibgorn: An Unofficial Reference and vote. Polls are stage left (scroll right).
If you have voted, thanks, but be advised that a sixth company name choice, The Pibverse Players, has been added. If you want to change your vote, just make your new selection… previous votes from the same IP address will be manually removed prior to publication of results.
Yes, Drusilla is a lovely study, and I think Honorable Master must enjoy drawing her.
Her left hand is reactive as The Green Thing drags her beneath the surface (panel 2); even if it’s only an autonomic twitch, still it’s a sign of life….
9CWL: Time well spent. You know that reminded me how often we live our life without thinking, because we are in an environment that we are used to, and perform our daily routine because it is expected of us. So often we do this that we don’t take the time to look within ourselves to find the things that truly make us happy.
Okay, this is weird. The Monday strip shows fine, and when I advance to page 7 of the comments, I get Tuesday’s strip, with 13 (at the moment) hidden comments.
But when I try to delete the page number from the UR so I can see the comments, it goes back to Monday’s strip.
She’s being pulled down to Something. I hope it’s something that will bring her back to consciousness. By the way, didn’t she seem to smile in one of the Monday panels?
(Edit: as soon as I refreshed after posting this the issue resolved itself. Doncha just love immaculate correction?)
Interesting, it seems that the basic font has changed to Comic . Well, I’ve had a looong hot bath, a short sweet toddy, and my curiosity assuaged for the nonce. See you all sometime later today! Gute Nacht!
MoonsingerFan said: “Running water has protective power in mythology. Not sure why, but the bad guys (fairies, elves, witches, demons, vampires, werewolves, etc.) aren’t supposed to be able to cross running water. Iron and salt are supposed to burn them, so you can use those to fight them, even if not in a form that would ordinarily harm anyone; but the recommended defense is to get on the other side of running water because they can’t follow you. ”
The thing about running water is that it creates negative ions which make it lively or “life-ly” if you will. This is why a running shower is so beneficial to we lifeforms who enjoy them. The negative ions infuse us and bring us back to life, in a manner of speaking. Imagine one of us trying to cross a roaring river of sulfuric acid. They spray alone would do rude things to us.
Likewise, Holy water, it can be shown scientifically, is different than regular water because there has been minute changes in the hydrogen bonds…similar to the negative ion shift in running water. Just the “what,” not the “how” or the “why.”
I note that her flotation devices seem more prominent and “perky” (for want of a better … or. shall we say, “acceptable to the nannybot” … word) in the finish than in the sketch.
There’s gonna be a flicker, because i love the contrast between the clearly-delineated, rather flat, sketch and the murky but dramatic finish.
(BTW - does my voice sound different? I’ve been on my Linux partition for the last several hours…)

.16. Neither did you.
.17. And now, for something completely different:
Of course, i doubt that in this thread of the Multiverse Amos felt any particular need to stop off at their honeymoon on the way back.
(It strikes me that Sister Caligula must have figured out by now that Amos and Edda are being Very Naughty while they’re being Naughty, so to speak, what with no Visible Manifestations yet.
(Though, come to think, despite how long it’s been in our view of their world, there are no Visible Manifestations yet in Diane’s case, either…)
9CWL: Amos has, will always have, eyes only for Edda. Poor Mary Rosenzweig (–what has become of her?) was proof of that. And when he is doddering in the Age of Walking on Three, he will have that fixed mental image of his mini-dressed Love to keep him lively!
Last line of my comment on the new Wapsi Square - poor Pablo gets a lot of flak about his spelling:
I have this image, incidentally, of Tina slapping Shelly’s face and telling her to snap out of it … but that would take two “T”s…

Fairportfan, to me, the sketch in frame 1 makes Dru a bit taller… like about 9’2”. The finish is foreshortened to her correct stature.
Not really - that tentacle still has three non-overlapping turns around her neck, which gives the term “swan-necked” a whole new meaning; its just that they’re standing higher out of the water.
@All OK, I finally bit the bullet and updated the Story Arc page. If you see anything wrong, or out of place, or missing, let me know. I’m so confused…

This epic is getting about as drawn out as a typical Japanese anime arc. And almost as melodramatic.
Brooke certainly has a way of keeping things enigmatic for the longest time. Is Dru to be food? A victim of renewed torture? A beneficiary of a newfound ally (ever think of that?) Stay tuned!
Does the Holy Water have something else in it to start with?
Otherwise, it sounds like it’s in the vein of transubstantiation, something that has been disproven a number of times, at least in terms of the physical elements and chemical characteristics of the bread and wine not changing from plant and fungal carbohydrates, sugars, etc. to human proteins, plasma and the like.
17 After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, “Take this and divide it among you.
18 For I tell you I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”
19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
Luke 22:17-20 (NIV)
The symbolism is clear about what Christ meant, but the tests before and after show it doesn’t suddenly change from bread to human meat and from wine to blood after a Catholic priest blesses it.
A fantastic saga of adventure both high and low, of forbidden passion and iambic pentameter, of fays, fools, organists, demons, accordions, heaven, hell and Shakespeare, Pibgorn follows the whims and flights of its eponymous fairy heroine as she plies her conviction that there must be more to life than depositing dew drops on dandelions and sleeping under mushrooms.

Brooke’s use of light and shadow is always fascinating, and manages to grab my attention. Yes, that’s it.
Well, if the Big Boss is interested in Drusilla, it more or less precludes her being just a corpse at this point. So that’s a hopeful sign.
