Pib: My, my….Satori’s quick! Wonder where she got those lightning quick reflexes? And Nat’s quicker still! Something about bringing a knife to a gunfight? Yet we still don’t get a peek at Satori’s ears.

Well, since Nat’s a demon, with bullets that only affect demons, it will be interesting to see what effect demon bullets have on Satori, with demon-style staghorn ears.
Well, the mysterious one instinctively used a Satori move rater than a Drusilla one. She now has another move to make.
She can:
1) Dodge the bullet (in which case it could hit Pib)
2) Deflect the bullet with the sword
3) Use a Drusilla patent plasma blast (with mandatory hip grind)
4) Be hit by the bullet
Also, the new-borns have no Drusilla to feed on - apparently. Interesting.
Well, since Nat’s a demon, with bullets that only affect demons, it will be interesting to see what effect demon bullets have on Satori, with demon-style staghorn ears
Have we seen the ears on this new Satori creature? Did I miss that?
I just got a call from my cousin Deej, who is working on some lizzard project. He asked me what lizard it was that opens up it’s flaps to look threatening. All I could think of was the frilled lizard. Am I right or do I need to call him back.
Cut the man some slack! He’s writing a book here that’s going to be published some day (break a leg, Brooke!). When you’re turning the pages, instead of waiting day by day by day, you don’t want the action to move too fast!
Since we’re restricted to reading day by day, it may seem to move at a glacier’s pace. But go back to page one, and read it page after page after page, and see if it still seems to move too slowly. My bet is the pacing would be much better.
I just wonder how he’s going to explain or otherwise handle the characters here from the previous arc that were not (to my knowledge) intended for publishing in a book. Are they going to have some preamble?
As I implied in my second post (above), I believe Nat’s magical/plasmoidal bullets will hit their target (The One Who Looks Like Satori), and that the effect will ultimately (though not necessarily proximally) be beneficial….
On a completely different subject, what is it with cage matches? Almost every action series I have seen in recent years has a fight club/cage match episode. This weekend there was one in Merlin!
Heavenly said, ”Have we seen the ears on this new Satori creature? Did I miss that?”
I was about to say yes, but it’s no, isn’t it? Not since the fireworks that resulted from Satori stabbing Dru.
Well – I can’t imagine the ears went away.
There wouldn’t be much point in Brooke showing us the ears in the first place if he was going to make them just disappear, and certainly disappear without explanation.
I’d have to say – Satori must be a demon of some sort, and so therefore Nat’s bullets will have some effect.
It grows colder here in southern Saskatchewan, and we have snow on the ground. And I have a black cat grooming himself at my feet.
Last winter, my Beloved offered shelter from the cold to a black cat who will NOT use a litter box. But while it was cold, he was quite willing to be our cat. We tried to get him neutered, but he broke the cat carrier. C’est la guerre…
As the weather warmed, and spring arrived, said cat - known here as Emo, since he wears black, is a fighter and full of scars, and likes to complain - stopped coming back in when he went out to do his business.
Summer came, and Emo was not to be seen. I did catch sight of him once, but he wouldn’t let me near him.
But today, with the weather at -5C and a predicted low of -11C, he has returned to claim his place in our home. He was a little skittish at first, but 12 hours later, he has been in and out several times, and he’s happy indoors.
Night-time should be interesting, though. We have a mouse in the house. We have a live trap set, but it has avoided the trap. Emo’s used to fending for himself, so he should have no trouble catching the mouse.
I hope he doesn’t find it at night. It will be loud and messy…
Satori is fast! It’s almost impossible to actually catch a sword like that in real life!
It has been done in fiction many times. Even in Discworld.
The “Mythbusters” did a show where they tested that myth. Danged if I remember what their results were!
Go to the Discovery Channel’s Mythbusters website if you’re interested in looking it up. I think they might have a video of the test in question, but I have no idea how hard it might be to find. (I know I’ve had troubles finding stuff.)
While it’s true we haven’t actually seen Satori’s ears recently, I agree with UncaAlby that HM wouldn’t make them just disappear without an accompanying story.
As human beings we DO want the pages to turn faster. He can publish the book faster, make the money faster and retire faster. Ooh, strike that last piece from the record! No retiring yet.
And if I go back to start over again, I’ll just be behind all over again. Well, something like that. It is gatting late and I am becoming exhausted. I keep having to correct my spelling now.

A fantastic saga of adventure both high and low, of forbidden passion and iambic pentameter, of fays, fools, organists, demons, accordions, heaven, hell and Shakespeare, Pibgorn follows the whims and flights of its eponymous fairy heroine as she plies her conviction that there must be more to life than depositing dew drops on dandelions and sleeping under mushrooms.
