Pib: So now we see where Satori’s katana hit–right in Dru’s mouth. But what’s happening to Satori? Even her hair is changing color. And I’m surprised Nat had his back turned till now.

Splendid transformative magic! It is clearer in the Sketch that the katana entered Dinah’s mouth and that Stuff (Bad?) is being released. The question for me, right now, is, what is becoming of Satori?

Well. Satori isn’t tuening into Henmellyn, because Hen’s hair was shorter and sort of blonde … but her hair definitely appears to be turning blonde and getting longer…

I’m in Orange County CA, the same time zone as you. Pibgorn updated on the picayune site a couple minutes past 10pm PDT as is typical for it. It updated here on gocomics about 10:10pm. All the comments so far are about Pib. 9CWL is still not updated at the Chronicle as of 10:23pm.

Part Eight - Maxie Gets Help
Maxie ran along the back trail as fast as she can, and soon came up to Eds house. She started first to paw and scratch his door. Then finally she gave up on that idea and started barking. Ed who was laying next to his wife. crawled out of bed and went to the door. As he opened up the door Maxie began to whine. Ed suddenly noticed a slip of paper that had been secured to Maxie. He quickly took the paper and unfolded it. As Ed read the note, he was filled with a sense of urgency. Mike was in trouble and needed his help.
Ed slipped his clothes on over his long johns, grabbed a couple of his rifles and ammunition, and quietly slipped out the door. Without making any sound, Ed and Maxie quickly made their way to Mikes cabin. Ed and Maxie took up their position behind a large rock. He had a plan but he needed Maxie to bark.
Mike continued to take a beating, but still did nothing but laugh at the man as he continued to repeat the question, “Where is my dog?” The man knew that this was not getting him anywhere. “Break his fingers one by one.” the man told his posse.
Just then barking could be heard. “Mister if you want your dog then go get her.” Mike said, and took another punch to the face. All but two men went outside. Gunshots rang out into the night. This was a distraction that Mike needed. Despite being tied to the chair, he willed his body to get up.
Mike threw his body into one of the men shattering the chair in the process. He was free now and they were going to pay. The one posse member that was remaining quickly drew out his gun but was met by a chair shot to the face and was knocked out by the blow. Mike quickly picked up the gun that was on the floor and went over to where both men were and tied them up with the rope that they had tied him up with.
With the gun in his hand he made his way to the door and opened it. Ed could see his friend hand signaling him
At the same time that Ed moved from his hiding place while continuing to shoot, Mike took his aim and also began to shoot. The man and his Posse were caught in a cross-fire. Maxie, remembering her days in the dog fighting ring, quickly began to circle and drew closer to one of the posse members. Then she sprang forth and attacked, quickly taking him down.
Before the last two posse members had a chance to shoot Maxie, their guns were shot out of their hands by Mike and Ed. Mike went over to where the man was and put him in handcuffs. He then removed the papers on Maxie and said, “You won’t be needing this anymore.”
Mike told Ed to keep an eye on the man as he himself went into the cabin and called 911. Within minutes the police had arrived and arrested the man and his posse.
As the police cars left, Mike turned to Ed and patted his friend on the back. ” Care to have a drink with me before you head back.” Mike asked, knowing what the answer would be. “You better believe it, but first you might want to clean up some, because I don’t want no blood in my drink.
As Mike and Ed mad their way to the cabin, Maxie stared at them. She remember all that had happened to her on her incredible journey. She remembered the homeless old man that was kind to her, and the boy Timmy who had run and played with her. Maxie also remembered the bad men and the horrible dog fights.
“Maxie aren’t you going to come in.” Mike said to her while waving his arm and hand in a back and forth motion . With a happy little puppy dog- like bark, she ran to her new master. She was home at last. The End

Note: Drusilla is still dead.
In fact, with a katana (one soaked with demon blood) entering her mouth and going clear through to the floor/ground/force field/whatever she’s lying on…chances are pretty good that her brain stem has been severed and she is considerably deader than she was previously.

The flicker itself works fine, but I still can’t get the click-thru to work properly. I think it has something with where you click on the picture. If you click on the bottom half, then the click-thru picture appears as long as you hold the mouse button. If you click on the top half, the click-thru picture appears for just a split second, then disappears. In both cases, once you release the mouse button, it goes to a “403 forbidden” site.

I’m thinking maybe they’re actually white instead of black in the final. Given that the sketch is only black-n-white, there would be no easy way for Brooke to draw a “white” star, the way he did in the color final.
