Pib Whoa. Who the hqiz is this? Someone proposed the Prince of Darkness himself, but given how “he” treated Dru on their first encounter, I don’t think that’s the case.

You may be right. This may be Nat in his true demon self. So far, he’s been the only other character, other than Geoff, to truly have deep feelings for Dru.

Part One - Neglect

Maxie, a purebred Golden Retriever laid on the porch of her master’s home. She was not a happy dog anymore. She missed her walks in the park that she and her master shared. She also missed running and playing with the master’s children. They became teenagers and had their own lives now. Maxie felt as if she were no longer important to her family. she felt neglected.

She tried to do anything just to get attention. Maxie would try to nudge her master’s hand for a petting, or put her head in her master’s lap, only to be told “Not now girl!” by him. She tried to get the children to play games like tug of war or fetch with her. It was no use, the children would tell her to leave them alone.

Maxie yearned for loving attention. She no longer felt welcomed here in her master’s house so she decided to run away. One night as everybody was sleeping in their beds , Maxie got up from her doggy bed and went through the doggy door that was in the kitchen. She ran to the fence and stopped. Maxie looked at her master’s house one last time, then she jumped over the fence and declared herself a free dog.

Maxie stayed in the alleyway as she walked. She passed many homeless people. Each one had a funny smell to her, some worse than others. She came across an old frail man who was offering her some food.

Maxie cautiously approached him and accepted the food. The old man began to pet her and it felt good.She decided to stay with him. She moved in a complete circle trying to get herself comfortable, then she laid down by his side and put her head in his lap. Maxie fell asleep as he petted her gently, while whistling a soft tune to her.

Among my folk, we’d call this dude Cernunnos, the Horned God, and around this time of year - the Solstice - they still dance to him in Abbot’s Bromley, just like they’ve been doing for a long, long time…like maybe the Neolithic.. The resemblance is startlingly close.

Thing is…why would Cernunnos, of all deities, be mourning Drusilla?

Whoever he turns out to be…this is a plot twist of major proportions.

Looked back to Friday and the changes to the demon that was feeding on Dru. Note the head is not visible and color is brightening. He is absorbing her mojo.

Dru was nobbled by a soul and he absorbed that as well. What he did at first was natural for a demon. He is not just a demon any longer and mourns for his mother.

I am I right? What next….. Oh confusion!

9C ~ The only thing that Mary’s gonna blow, is popcorn, all over Seth’s clean carpet. What Amos is doing will be of less than secondary importance as she is being escorted off the premises.

Dru was seen shedding shedding tears over Nat, and if this new demon is Nat shedding tears over Dru, I gotta wonder how that’s going to work long-term.

It’s Dru’s unrequited love for Geoff that’s keeping Pib and Geoff alive. If Dru falls out of love with Geoff, then Pib and Geoff’s lives may be in jeopardy.

Not to be picky, but I didn’t think Golden Retrievers were Labs. If it truly is a “Golden Lab Retriever”, I think that’s a cross-breed, and not a purebred, isn’t it?

BikeNBoatN There are Golden Retrievers, yes, and Labradors come in Black (the most common), Chocolate and Golden (yellow), are recoginized as Labrador Retrievers by the AKC.

An AKC Golden Retriever is charachterized by a medium to long coat, wile an AKC labrador retriever has a short coat

I don’t think so. Check the outline of the shadow in panel 1 against just the outline of the demon in panel 5.

Everything this there – the rounded horn-tops, the stag-ears, the horn-tips, the lumpy top-of-head –

That is no human by any stretch.
