Aww, Nat and Dru, together again. Gee, is he dying in her arms? Reminiscent of Henmellyn?
And the sketch and final look nearly the same.
Well, I’ll be away from a computer for a few days. My wife and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary, so I might check in once in a while on the hotel computer. Otherwise, see you all on Thursday.

OK .. memories of my reaction to movies when I was a little kid …. when are they gonna finish the mushy stuff and go on to the action?
(I really wanna see Tom T. get what’s coming to him)
(And I also wanna see how this convoluted dreamscape, combined with the uncouncous Oognat, frost-converted Pibgorn, and whatever’s going on with Nat and Dru in the volcano works out)
Sisyphos said, 3 months ago
Let me see if I’ve sorted this out. Nat is at the viewer’s left, and we see him from behind; Dru is at the right, and partially obscured by Nat; they embrace torso-to-torso. Is that how you see it?
ADD: Nat’s right arm goes over Dru’s left shoulder, his left arm under her right arm (the hand of which holds the fedora). Her left arm is around his back….

Sisyphos, I think you can see it any way you want–it’s really hard to tell who’s who and what limb belongs to which person. Interesting. Are they going to more than mind meld?? Surely not a final goodbye (sob).

I think that this page is the finale of this “scene,” so to speak, and that tomorrow there will be a ‘cut” to other characters: Geoff and the Pibsicle–one would think that with the volcano and all she’d be melting by now!–or perhaps the Eggs?

Today’s Luann - notice all of the signs on the bulletin board that she says she lettered are backhand - letters sloping the wrong way.
Often symptomatic of a left-handed writer (which Luann is) … except that my righthanded sister writes a backhand, and left-handed i write a more-or-less normal hand.

THE LAND OF MAGIC
By ladywolf17
Part Two
A New World
I felt strange as the box was spinning around in circles. A wave of nausea washed over me. Then the spinning was over.
I waited for a few moments in the box to see if the magician would open the box. There was nothing but silence. I couldn’t even hear the crowd noise.
I slowly open the lid of the box, and stepped outside. I stepped onto a beautiful meadow, as far as the eye can see. I wasn’t in the town of Cedar Hills anymore.
“Good afternoon to you!” said a strange voice from out of nowhere it seemed. “Who said that? why are you hiding?” I asked looking for a person, but finding none but myself.
“My my! what a silly girl you are.” said the voice again belonging to a blue jay. That was quite a surprise to me, to here a blue jay talk in a human voice. Everything went black. I had fainted.
I woke up in a cabin, and looked around. The cabin was well kept, there was not a single mess anywhere. ” Ah! you’re awake, splendid !” said an old man with a pleasant tone.
The old man who was bald except for gray hair on his side, and back of the head came to where I sat up in his bed, and offered me some tea. I gladly accepted the tea and then asked him politely his name and what town that I was in.
The old man using a cane to walk with strolled over to the window and opened up the curtains. “My name is Barris Hueller, and you young lady, are in the Land of Magic.” said Barris as he opened up the door and stepped out into the sunlight.
So as not to be rude I told him my name as I followed him outside. Barris then looked at me thoughtfully then said, “Magic has brought you here for a purpose. Now you must discover what that purpose is.” The old man named Barris sat down in his rocking chair, took out his corncob pipe, then reached into his shirt pocket and pulled out a bag of pipe tobacco.
On the table to his left side he picked up a box that had matches in it. He took out a match, struck the side of the box, and lit his pipe. He took a couple of puffs then said to me, “Just follow this path that leads to the North, and you will come to a palace where the Head Magician lives. Only he can help you.”
I waved goodbye to Barris and immediately set off on the journey to reach the palace in the North.

Ladywolf, I meant to compliment you on your choice of story. What happens inside the magic box? So MANY choices, and such a wonderful beginning. Tonight’s installment is also very good.
Sketch VS Final art: the tendrils are longer in the sketch. It doesn’t make it less confusing.
Tennessee Charlie: There won’t be such a book, because this strip isn’t for dummies. Which is, of course, why you’re here (you’re obviously not a dummy if you are here).
You will understand what’s happening; but you won’t understand the stirp WHILE it’s happening. You’ll jut have to wait patiently, like most of the rest of us, and when it has happened, you’ll understand.

9CWL: He’s carrying the argument a bit far. And all Edda needs to do is pass a little gas and he’ll put her down.

You are all aware of the dumb things that I have been apart of. Well I have been ashamed of myself. I acted stupid and almost lost a good friend ( kozykitn27). We made up late last week over at Hubert and Abby. I have since then settled down and started to act like a seventeen year old girl is supposed to.
Well I used to love Big Top, but I don’t anymore. It was agreed over there that the hatchet was supposed to be burried, so to speak. So I thought that everything would be back to normal. Most everyone there gives me the silent treatment, and I guess I deserve it. I was told i had to earn friendship, but that task has proven impossible since Most everyone except a few continued to ignore me. My dad tried to reason with them, but it was no use. Now because of my childish stupidity which I thought would be dead and buried in the past, my father who doesn’t even come on that much and myself have been branded as deceivers.
I can’t bear to live with this shame. I only wanted to start over and show them that I could be myself, that was why I took up meditation. In the end all I managed to do was Hurt myself. I was my own troll, my own worst enemy. I see that now. It is a bitter pill to swallow and a painful lesson that I had to learn. I am done with Big Top and will never go back there again. I have nothing bad to say about Big Top, I brought this all upon myself, and have to live with my shame. My father shouldn’t have to bear this shame with me He’s innocent! This is my burden and mine alone.

You are all lucky, because I almost decided to cancel the story because of how I feel. I came home happy that my cast came off. Now I’m not happy at all. See my last post .
Saskfan said, 3 months ago
Ladywolf: Don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re a teen, and your maturity level will fluctuate; that’s natural. When you want to write a post, write in a word processor first, then edit it for spelling, then walk away for half an hour. Come back and read it again, as if it were someone else’s post. Look at what you’re writing; does it sound petty? Would you take offense if someone posted that comment about you? Have you said anything that might offend someone? Is the tone relatively positive about people? Is it revealing too much of yourself?
When you’re satisfied that it’s Politically Correct, it says what you want to say without risking hurting someone’s feelings (even if you’d like to!), THEN copy it to the comment box and post it.
It’s a lot of work, yes. But it’s worth it to learn how to write positively and still say what you need to say. An with this, I do not mean to say that you’ve insulted anyone here. This is just general advice, and you’re welcome to tell me to stuff my advice.
And if you don’t learn something every day for the rest of your life, I’ll be surprised. Now I’m going to shut up and mind my own business for the night.
G’night!

Great scene. I have no idea how they’re arranged, other than I’m pretty sure that’s Dru’s leg on the right, and I think she still has the hat.
And I have a hunch they’re celebrating. Ahem.
So… what are those tendrils hanging down?

The most important thing was that I learned a valuable lesson that will serve me well for now on. I shall forever be aware of what I type as well as my attitude. I can move on now, and start fresh again or I can let my bad past consume me into deeper misery.
I choose to leave my demons behind and start on a road to a better life. I’m starting to feel better already. So many thanks for the advice Saskfan.

Ladywolf,
What Saskfan says is SO true.
I’m 50+ and I wish I could follow Saskfan’s advise all the time, but still sometimes do not. Emotions affect what we say when we write, and with the printed/electronic media, there are no inflections or visible emotions to help get the message across correctly as there are when speaking face to face. So contriteness may not be perceived correctly; sincerety may not be able to be expressed at all, at least not so the other party can fully take it at written value.
I’ve taken to sending e-mails to myself, first, then re-read and if it still makes sense, THEN send it to whom it was written. Probably half the time, it gets deleted from my inbox and never sent anywhere else.
Be patient. Not everything or everyone changes overnight or even over-month. Enjoy what you have and where you can contribute. Lurk elsewhere. That’s what lurking is for!!

Yep, I wish I always took that second look at posts. Good advice Saskfan.
Keep writing LadyWolf. I never thought I’d finally get in the bookstores. Happened this week, finally, but only in SW Oregon so far. Most of my early writing is junk, with a capital J. It takes a lot of bad work to start writing good work and what I’ve seen of your stories are pretty good. Much better than what I wrote as a teen. You have a gift for it. Keep writing.

I’m new to Pibgorn, but have seen your comments over at C&H, Garfield and GMG.
You have an interesting story there, though I feel compelled to point out that you probably meant for your heroine to faint, not feint! (Sorry, musta been a copy editor in a previous life).
All the best with being 17 and learning your life lessons, and may your demons go back to where they belong!
Will await the next instalment.

Thank you all for your encouragements and advice to ladywolf17. She is sleeping now and I advised her to take some time off of work and just relax and work on her ankle rehab and her meditation. She was called a troll tonight by BT and it made her emotionally upset. She felt better after talking witk Saskfan and paciii. So to both of you I say thank you.
I think that BT is not the place for her. Thank the maker that Pibgorn is
