Aw, poor Dru is crying. A succubus’s tears are quite precious. Nat has pulled through, or so it appears.

As i just said “yesterday” - does this solve the “Dru loves Geoff” problem?

I can’t wait for Nat’s vocabulary to return to normal!
I OD’d on Sharespearian lingo back in the “Midsummer” arc.
… eh …
“Normal” for Nat, anyway.
(didn’t he get his own movie? “Inglourious Bustard”, right?)

This is a touching moment in the story arc. Tom T. is in big trouble now.

So, did Nat in fact shoot himself (just not quite as explicitly as we were expecting)? Or did the fedora bleed? Or is the blood something else altogether? Apparently, Drusilla thought what she saw was Nat shooting himself: hence, her emotional reactions, “yesterday” and today….

I think that Dru is still very much in love with Geoff, but has the major hots for fellow demon Nat.
jml58 said, 3 months ago
Nat can´t be hurt by a bullet through the head.
there is nothing vital there.
Fairportfan said, 3 months ago
Well, what i meant is, if she falls out of love with Geoff, will her love for Nat save Geoff and Pib from the foretold betiding of woe?
EDIT: The kiss must come after Nat’s line, because he’s just pushing his hat that was over his face back as he says it, and it’s tipped back for the kiss.

lincolnhyde said, 3 months ago
OK, as usual, I was wrong - I insisted that Nat shot only the hat - three stripes with a wet noodle for me.
However, I do think that I was right in saying that he did what he did to snap Dru out of her dream (of which she was already halfway out), and remind her, as several people have pointed out, that hell’s power is in making you think that you have no choice.
Edit: Yes, the bottom panel with the kiss is the last panel; otherwise, as Fairportfan points out, continuity fails.
Sisyphos said, 3 months ago
It may have been a bit of a MacGuffin, but Nat’s fedora at least certainly has admirable homing technology!

>Ummm. I womder what’s going through Luann’s mind…
Well. Over the last little while, the Toni/Brad arc has basically unchained the whole issue of sexuality, and it’s infecting the other characters including Bernice and Luann herself. It appears that Greg is deliberately bringing the issue to the foreground - Mogg knows it’s taken him long enough.
Anything having to do with Tiffany before this was just hot air and bravado, but now that Brad’s old enough and mature enough to be in a committed relationship, and the rest of the cast are old enough that if they were real teens, at least some of them would be boinking each other on a regular basis, it would - at least to me - seem disingenuous if a strip that has dealt with subjects like one’s first period, cancer and date rape would shy away from the fact that kids and young adults think about sex.
The Comics Curmudgeon appears to be quite squicked out about this development, but to me that’s just an indication that he doesn’t get what Greg is about. I think it’s a charming development and adds another level of depth to the strip.

– who’s blood is that on the floor?
pittfall said, 3 months ago
If today is international “Tool” day. Does that include the people that I consider to be a “tool”? If so, does that mean we can celebrate by giving them a swift kick in the behind?
I hope this doesn’t mean that Dru fall’s out of love with Geoff, although that would make for an interesting twist in the story.
9CL: What is Seth going to do when somebody else comes over for a visit and doesn’t want to take off their shoes?

Great Scurry–Muller story, waycyber; but it seems naggingly familiar. Did you ever link to it or post it here before?
Fairportfan said, 3 months ago
Well, remember that Luann almost Gave It Up in a car by the lake some years ago (in our time frame) and Bernice was going at it pretty energetically with Zane when the fire started - so intently that neither of them noticed it till it was well-established.

Yeah, well, i gave up even trying to read the CC quite some time ago. When he talks about strips i actually know, he seems to be off in left field more often than not.

Okay; time for a confession. Taking off one’s shoes has been a house-rule in the Sisyphos home for as long as I can remember. I believe it was originally my Mom’s concern; she used to be a fanatical cleaner…. I’ve let some things slip a bit since Dad and Mom’s passings, but the “shoes off” rule still applies. (P.S. I’m an only child, so the condo is mine, now.)

At least part of the ‘dream’ Dru was trapped in may have been Nat’s own, referencing his dialogue with “Rocco” (revealed to be Tom T) aboard the Santana. Nat’s breaking the dream by shooting himself in the head echoes Edward Norton’s banishing of his “Tyler Durden” persona in Fight Club. And Nat’s new way of speaking MIGHT mean that this demon’s real personality (whatever that may be) is finally rising through the Bustard persona he’s been trapped in since Borgia Cantus. Hmmm?

Yes. But I was thinking of the shot hat link I am working on some new stuff, but the addendum to my novel is taking a lot of my efforts. I am hoping that by offering it to a publisher along with the original, I can break the minimum word count and get it accepted for consideration.

9CL - I thought this was turning into a Japanese strip (no shoes allowed in the house), but then the bongos kicked in… I hope the rear section can hold out until tomorrow…
I looked at videos of Tito Puente. Quite impressive, I’ll have to try sticks on bongos sometime…
gimmickgenius - I was thinking the same thing. That’s not Nat…

Okay now I’m fuming mad!
I just typed out a story and pressed the post comment button.
But instead of seeing the story appear on the screen like always the computer takes me off-line, and I lose everything.
Now instead of browsing comics, I have to retype the story all over.

THE LAND OF MAGIC
By ladywolf17
Part One
The Carnival
Summer had finally come to the town of Cedar Hills. Merchants were busy setting up their stock for display. The tourist were coming by the handful.
The most important thing, however was the carnival. The carnival always drew the most crowds. My brother Henry and I helped out father load his wagon with his merchandise then made sure that Bessie our mare was strapped into her harness.
My brother and I then got into the back of the wagon, as our father helped mother up into her place next to him.
“H’yah!” said my father to Bessie, and we were off.
We arrived at the carnival at about noon. As our father set up his merchandise, Mother gave my brother , Henry and I some money to buy our tickets and food with.
After we bought our tickets , my brother told me to wait here as he went to the bathroom. A magician act caught my attention and I strolled over there to get a better look. The magician a man known as The Amazing Alonzo, was in the midst of getting ready to perform his next magic act.
” For my next amazing trick, I will need a volunteer.” the magician said as he looked over the excited crowd trying to get his attention. “How about you, little girl?” said the magician pointing to me.
I stepped on to the stage, feeling very excited and also a little bit nervous. “Now then, little girl what is your name?” the magician asked as he waved his hands for silence.
The magician was a tall man who wore a black outfit complete with a black cape. He also wore a white shirt that was covered by a black vest. He had black hair, blue eyes, and a mustache that curled upwards at the end on both sides. “My name is Tierra.” said I, as he put me into a large box.
“Now for my next amazing trick! I shall make this child disappear right before your very eyes.” the magician said as he closed the lid to the box, with me inside.
The magician began to spin the box slowly, getting the crowd worked up to a fever - pitch frenzy of excitement. “Abracadabra, alakazam! make this child disappear.” said the magician as he waved his wand in the air, and then tapped the box.
The crowd began to cheer as he opened up the box to reveal, that I had indeed disappeared.
