I’ll venture to guess that the “Burden of Bogie” is being used by the as-yet-unidentified Evil Force against Nat for just the very reason that Nat perceives: as a distraction; but possibly also in some way a clue?
I thought: “You know how to whistle don’t you? You just put your lips together and…blow.” was from The Big Sleep. I may be wrong, but that is the one Bogie/Bacall movie I have seen enough times to remember lines.

Somebody fill me in on the 9CW thing. Did Mac poke a hornet’s nest and not expect to get stung? Am I misreading this?
The nun that Monty is facing off is Sister Stephen, who is headmistress of the prep school that Edda and Amos attended before graduating and moving on to NYC.
Diane, the ex-nun, as Sister Aramus, taught English at the selfsame school.
Sister Stephen’s nickname amongst the students and most of the staff is – with reason – Sister Caligula.
Somebody fill me in on the 9CW thing. Did Mac poke a hornet’s nest and not expect to get stung? Am I misreading this?
A little bit. The post-board at 9CWL got invaded by trolls who took perverse pleasure in insulting the artist and the other commentors, but that wasn’t the worst of it. I think that HM would have let that slide because trolls usually go away on their own.
One of these trolls started taking HM’s strips and the Luann strips and changing the dialogue. I found where he’d posted the link to both 9CWL and Luann on the 9CWL board and followed it out of morbid curiosity (please forgive me! I had no idea what I would find). His changes were - to say the very least - hideously offensive and insulting and if I continue with what I think of this guy and his “changes”, I’ll have to flag myself out of principle. That was the day the post board was shut down and I don’t blame Mr. McE one bit.
I’m not really much of a Bogart fan (and I’m hiding from the various and sundry objects now flying in my direction), but my first reaction was “How does she keep the curl in her hair in that rain?”
I don’t read the comments on The Other Site, so I didn’t miss them. This place is better! Honourable Master has the right to shut down anything he pleases, since they’re his creations. I salute you, Mr. Mc E!
Edit: There’s an R in first, idiot, he said to himself.
Nat may be outside Tom T’s control, and Nat is the only one who can stop his little game. Soooooo, what is Nat? More than just a demon?
Oh, I’m sure you’re right about Nat being outside Tom the Toast’s control. But no one really knows what kind of demon he is, neither does he, he picked up being Nat to define himself. I think Tom only has control over those who have an alter-ego, but Nat’s normal incarnation and his alter-ego are the same.
AmriloJim The 9CL archive looks great! My thoughts: If space permits, go ahead and put the Sunday strip at the bottom of the page. Even though they’re not really following the same arc as the weekday strips, I think it makes it easier if the entire week was in one page, like your Pib archive is. Again, that’s just my 2 cents, because what you’ve done so far is outstanding as it is.
Pibgorn: Interesting how Nat went from walking on a clear day in either sunlight or moonlight, to being in a downpour in the middle of the night.
9CL: Looks like it’s been a while since Monty had been in Sister Steven’s flock, as he clearly forgot her ability to instill fear and fright into her students.
Hey, AmriloJim, love the site! It loads nice and fast (a huge plus for my impatient little brain) and it’s easy to navigate. I’ll have to look around in it more, but it looks great so far.
No alcohol drinking now for six days I am using meditation to clear my mind of any temptations or distractions. And in the darkest part of my mind I saw a light. And in that light I saw faces of those who have cared about me. It has given me renewed strength to carry on in my battle to remain sober.
Amrilo Jim … Are you online right now, and was there irony dripping from your fingers about the “fun part” being fishing out the urls?
I truly DO like tinkering with html, javascript, and c programming… so I might be able to find a fast way to make a list of the url dates…
And then a Macro which would write the whole page for you…
(As the best case scenario.)
Adam, you mentioned “fairness” You “parodied” someone else’s work. They didn’t appreciate it, as is their right. You posted the link to another link on a private site that also didn’t appreciate it, as is their right. Now it seems as though you not only expect them to tolerate it, but approve as well. If you loved the board, congratulations, you helped kill what you loved. You might not have anticpated it. Sometimes we don’t expect things to play out as they did, we didn’t mean to, but there it is, we accept the part we had in the outcome. I think it was extreme and unnecessary given that your account was closed, but that’s not the point. Your petulant attitude is that you still expect the author of the original source to not only tolerate but be flattered by your efforts. That seems to me to be the height of immaturity. Calling him names like “insecure” because he spoiled your fun is childish. Pull up your big boy pants and move on.
Oh, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Amrilo Jim for all your work in getting all the Pib archives up for all of us to enjoy. We are not worthy….

A fantastic saga of adventure both high and low, of forbidden passion and iambic pentameter, of fays, fools, organists, demons, accordions, heaven, hell and Shakespeare, Pibgorn follows the whims and flights of its eponymous fairy heroine as she plies her conviction that there must be more to life than depositing dew drops on dandelions and sleeping under mushrooms.
