    Revelation!

Unfortunately, just like the one given to St. John, this divulgation still doesn’t exactly make eveything clear

    We now know, though:

That Oognat, despite her non-Gallic vocabulary and speech patterns, is supposed to be French.
That she has been revealed as Toto.
That this poppy-field is therefore in Oz…or at least has an Ozzian vibe.
That there is thus absolutely at least one element of the Dreamtime that is not taken from the Borgia Cantus

If the metaphor *is* Oz and the metaphor is to be fully played, there are roles yet to cast:
    The Scarecrow.
    The Tin Woodman.
    The Cowardly Lion.
    Dorothy.
To say nothing of such major supporting figures as The Wicked Witch, Glinda, and The Wizard.

If the metaphor is fully played, I believe I mentioned earlier my bad feeling as to who may end up dressed as Dorothy….

I leave Hamantashen in two flavors: honey-poppyseed (for the OTC, Llefty, Gruff and the squirrels) and apricot (for the fruit-bats). The coffee is Peet’s (at the moment, I’m next door to one and I’m not feeling creative).

    For now, I must away…

Ladywolf17 – There are two, The Girl in the Coffee Cup, which chronicles the beginning of the strip, and the origin of the characters, and Pibgorn Rep: A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Both are available at VERY reasonable prices, considering their content, from Pibgorn Press.

    http://pibpress.blogspot.com/

Enjoy. The lady I love loves grape Popsicles, and Fudgesicles, so boxes of both are on ice at the sideboard.

I like the ladies(?) leaning on the panel frame!

Ladywolf: there are books. They are available at: http://pibpress.blogspot.com/

Fearcuil’s boilerplate that’s usually at the top of the comments can point you to the same site. He also has links to introductions to the Order of the Couch, the characters of the strip, and Honourable Master’s blog.

In honour of M.C. Escher’s birthday, there’s leftover cake on the sideboard; it’s two misaligned layers of brownies with marzipan between, frosted with chocolate icing. Baked in a Moebius-strip pan, of course. And there are klein bottles of fruit juice next to the cake.

And yes, pbarnrob, I’m aware of the kleinbottle site too. I love their offer of Klein jigsaw puzzles! You may have to break one of your windows or a bottle of your own to complete the puzzle. But each puzzle comes with a free bandaid!

Is Oogie going to Apache dance with Nat?

She just did, only in a reverse role mode.

We have mobius strip shaped brownies and refreshments in Klein bottles? They will all fit nicely on the eleven dimensional brane table. I checked and I think all the black holes are gone. Except the one in my stomach, of course.

I love Nat peeking through and hanging on the corner. Nice touch.

    Hmmm… an Oz paralell…
    Dorothy first - Dru
Meets the scarcrow who falls down: Nat
    Then the TinMan - Pib?
But she should have arrived WITH her dog Toto…
Maybe the name’s changed and this is the un-cowardly hairy beast - Oognat/Toto
so we await the rest of the cast and see if the sparlky bubbles is the yellow brick road or not…

Wonder if the nurse & docs that were in the operating room will turn up as the wicked witch and monkeys??

If this is Ozian, it is a bit twisted. But Geoff might be a good wizard – ignore that accordian-player behind the curtain of ice…

Something to think about over the weekend.

Of course, the movie only touched on about half the material of the first half of “The Wizard of Oz”… there are 13 other Baum-written Oz books and what, 18-20 more by Bloom and other authors… This might pull in one of the other stories’ content… (but I don’t remember an “Volcano of Oz” edition…)

I can do little more than add emphasis, the art is great, the use of the frame-as-prop is super….
BUT (and it’s a BIG but, as the joke goes),
I’m enjoying reading everyone’s input just as much as the installment itself.
Admittedly not the brighest light in the harbor, I had to look up what a Klein Bottle was (though I did know of the Mobius strip)….
I simply hope that bottle is filled with merlot or Grand Marnier.
    Have a wonderful weekend, OTC’ers!

Very tired today, after a day of fighting the FDIC (what they’re doing would be considered abusive in absolutely any relationship but, apparently, that of taxpayer to government) and ….

I was working for a large bank in Houston when the FDIC came in 2 days before Halloween, most thought it was unfair because the bondholders had a vote coming at the beginning of November and had already verbally aggreed to terms that would allow the bank to stay solvent. And the short greasy twerp with the limo and bodyguards that had run the bank into the ground got off scott-free! Figures!

Anyway fear-ciuil hope things are better for you today! I am massively curious about what bank and what is the FDIC doing, etc… . but this is not the place to review details.

good luck - and remember - it is FRIDAY!

I’m ever so glad we now have names for all the major characters in their dream-entrapment. I’m just wondering if (and how) Maurice and Geoff will show up.

@maeverin, of course, we will be more than glad to pray for your father.

About Klein bottles: you can get one if you paste the edges of two Moebius strips together properly. However, once you do, everything is inside the bottle…

Oz - I like the idea. With poppies and now Teau-Teau suggesting the theme, perhaps the character parallels are do not come from the timing of their entrance, but possibly their motivation. In this case, the Pib parallel would be Dorothy, as she has the quest to find Geoff.. who parallels the Wizard?

There’s no way we could consider Dru to be a Cowardly anything however, which would only leave the Scarecrow, as Nat has repeatedly demonstrated his claim to the title Tin Woodsman.

The more I ponder,it seems, the thinner this line of reasoning becomes. After all, what will become of Maurice; Wicked Witch? Flying Monkey? Munchkin?

It appears I must at last join up residence on the Couch. I come bearing chocolate chip scones.
