If you would like to ‘favorite’ the strip, (and maybe the sketch, too), simply log in and click on the ‘Favorite’ star at the lower right corner of the strip. Mr. McEldowney very kindly asked for us what purpose is served by favoriting, and this was the answer:
I asked my editor at Gocomics about the purpose of “favoriting” a strip. Her answer was this: “‘Favoriting’ allows people following you to see what comics you like. ‘Favorited’ comics also show up under your profile, and allow us to see what comics people are enjoying.”
Basically, I think it provides a method for spreading the word.
Brooke

If we’re going to be revisiting old characters, at least Nonny and Dinah were two of the most gorgeous gals ever to grace the scene.

First, I bet Tommy boy is behind this.
Second, maybe it’s not Nat on the other end of that gun.
Third, how does one join the order of the couch? Is there some initiation? Does one have to be nominated or sponsored?
Fourth, can someone jog my memory as to what story arc Pib was Nonny?

And Joe, there’s a typo that I normally wouldn’t mention, but it’s such a GOOD typo: you typed “unbridaled” instead of “unbridled” humma-humma. It’s wrong, but “unwed humma-humma is, of course, grammatically correct. Thus, your typo isn’t a typo. Lovely; perfect for this forum!
Thank you for picking up on that. I was catching up on Wapsi Square before the update and only now caught up to the final posts for yesterday including Sisyphos’ “Hey, Nonny, Nonny.” as well.

The expression on her face seems more Nonny Voglesang than Pibgorn and from the looks of the trigger finger the gunner is male but doesn’t sound quite like Nat. Then again details…
Do like the lighting on Pib in the first panel.
If I didn’t enjoy the mystery the art and the discussion, wouldn’t be here.

@debra4life50, as to Number Third, you just have to pull up a section of couch. (Beware the section on casters–Llefty has discovered it, and enjoys a rousing game of Couch Hockey. The pool is the goal.) Bringing goodies for the sideboard or participating in a game of Marco Polo are optional. ;D
As to Number Fourth, that was the Borgia Cantus arc.

The look of pure disgust on Pib’s face is priceless.
Oh, I haven’t been posting lately because I spent part of the weekend at Baycon, a 4 day science fiction convention here in the Bay Area, and part of it in bed recuperating from an infestation of “con crud” (which is any virus you catch at a convention that makes you into a flaming sneeze machine). Ah, life. :)

I never have trouble with favorites. As far as I know, the comics devices are present and functional. Firefox (latest) and NoScript. Can no longer find AdBlock in PROGRAMS. No matter… All systems Go.

Sisyphos said, 5 months ago
Nonny, a tough moll with gorgeous gams, glanced warily over towards Dinah as she regained consciousness, then felt the cold steel nuzzling her temple…. Turning, she faced the mean-looking snub-nosed .38 and, holding it,… To Be Continued!

Sisyphos,
they appear to be the little roll up beasties from M.C.Escher, although I cannot be certain if they have a name.
Nabuquduriuzhur said, 5 months ago
Only one complaint about Pibgorn. Even when the story is done, sometimes when one goes back to look over the prior weeks, one still can’t figure out what the Master had in mind for a panel, sometimes.
chinawanderer said, 5 months ago
Here’s a theory about who is behind all this that might explain some things. I stumbled across Frost’s “Fire and Ice” about the end of the world. Dru’s volcano is fire and Pib’s glacier is the ice. If you remember way back at the beginning, Pib and Dru team up to fight the apocolypse (spelling). Maybe this is the latest incarnation of it.
Just a theory from the confused couch.

Whoa! I never saw THAT coming! Okay, so who is orchestrating THIS new fantasy? Is it going to end in Geoff doing another mega accordian solo? Was that the right story (I’ve been reading since Pib’s first ill-fated flight so I get confused)? Where did Nonny get that great dress? Why is Nat going to ruin it with splattered fairy brains? Oh, everyone budge over! I am SO on the couch (slaps off a few squirrels).
chinawanderer said, 5 months ago
I don’t think Nat is holding the gun. I could be wrong.

I think I’ll just stay here under the couch and play with the squirrels…It seems to be the safest option right now..I am so confused.
cdward said, 5 months ago
What I don’t know is the backstory between Nat and Nonny. If I had that, I think this would make more sense. Haven’t been following Pib that long but am enjoying immensely.
Joe Minotaur said, 5 months ago

The purpose of the little “Flag” below each post of the other commenters is to allow vulgar or inflammatory comments to be “Flagged” so that the gocomics staff can be alerted to the comment and if it is deemed inappropriate, it will be deleted.

It’s gotta be a Cantus tie in; only there was Pib known as Nonny Vogelsang

I have no idea what just happened here…

Harking back to some of last night’s/(early this morning) comments:
@Risitas Thanks for the info on Serendipity Singers. I’d already gone pretty much straight classical by then, so my acquaintance with/following of popular groups was very spotty.
@wannabeaussie Thanks for the elucidation on “Evil Companions”. I had no idea–never heard of the musical–but it probably is the same song, considering the time frame, etc.
Glad you enjoyed Lawrence. My husband’s explanation of how we got here is that he retired and I’m a Jayhawk: where else were we going to be? (Yes, Jayhawks do tend to be fanatics, and we love our nest.)
@Sisyphos Have you ever heard the Jim Croce/Benjamin Luxon (sp?) rendition of “Lord of the Dance”? We have two versions on the two sides of a single tape; and one, especially, can stand your hair on end. Very powerful.
I thought the critters in bmonk’s avatar were sort of an old Snooper dog transformer effect. (Escher was obviously ahead of his time!)
And, really, folks–do we want to understand this strip? What would we do with the couch then? Of course, I’m staying underneath, so I don’t have to worry about falling off.

.
Careful .J. Falling off, from underneath THIS couch will land you topside, where you will then “fall” onto the wall, bounce back to the upright floor section and roll right back under the couch. Strap yourself in, the roller coaster is just reaching the top of the first run. My skin hairs are already standing up. Here’s some peanuts to assuage the “Can we eat this?” look the squirrels are giving you.
