If you would like to ‘favorite’ the strip, (and maybe the sketch, too), simply log in and click on the ‘Favorite’ star at the lower right corner of the strip. Mr. McEldowney very kindly asked for us what purpose is served by favoriting, and this was the answer:
I asked my editor at Gocomics about the purpose of “favoriting” a strip. Her answer was this: “‘Favoriting’ allows people following you to see what comics you like. ‘Favorited’ comics also show up under your profile, and allow us to see what comics people are enjoying.” Basically, I think it provides a method for spreading the word. Brooke
ccdesan has also created a GoComics comments posting guide to special formatting: italic, bold, indents, large fonts, etc. (Be aware that at the moment, formatting only takes when you edit your post.)

ATTENTION OTC: NOW HEAR THIS: We can override the blinding background.
In Firefox: Preferences-Content-Fonts & Colors- Colors – set the background and text to colors of your choice and UNCHECK the box that says “Allow pages to choose their own colors…”
In Opera: Preferences-Web Pages– set the background color to color of your choice, then go to Preferences-Advanced-Style Options-Presentation Modes– check all of the boxes on the User side and set Default to “User mode”.
In IE: Preferences-Web Content–click the box that says “background” to bring up the color wheel and choose your color. UNCHECK “Page specify colors”.
In Safari: Haven’t figured this one out yet. I think you have to set up a style sheet. I’ll pursue.
Sorry I don’t have Camino, but hopefully it ought to be something similar to one of the above…
Try catching up after a week away! I’ll probably be confuzzled for a month! But such lovely plumage to keep me entertained in the meanwhile…
Hmmm, it looks like Goeff is carrying the frozen Pibgorn in Fire-and-Ice-land (panel 1), then in panels 2-3 we have Dru and Pib in Pib’s tight-wire dream, but for some reason Pib is being forced to revert to her more natural fey form at the end, even as she is being carried aloft by her (or someone else’s?) magic.
Now, if someone could just explain in words of two or fewer syllables why, I might be able to travel happy…
@KalahariNight: Won’t your “blinding white background” workaround affect ALL web pages that you view?
I suppose one could change it back after viewing Pibgorn and other UClick / GoComics sites, but it really would be nice if they’d solve the root problem.
Oh, BTW, it works for Firefox on a PC as well. Tools -> Options -> Content tab -> Colors button -> Pick the background color you want, then uncheck “Allow pages to choose their own colors…”
Hi there, everybody! It’s 1:30 am here in Tampa, and the site tells me there are 22 comments already, but I don’t see ANY! What’s up with that? Hope everyone is having a good holiday weekend, and I say a big THANK YOU to all the military veterans. Anybody for red, white, and blue sundaes (strawberries, vanilla ice cream, and blueberries)?
Thanks, fear-ciuil. I went back to the 7th page of “yesterday’s” comments and read those, then moved back here and found all the comments in their proper places.
And yes, CoBass, you’re correct in that ALL web page backgrounds will be changed. And this one was greyed out in such a way that the favourite star was hidden in grey as well; so was the green Post Comment box turned to grey. But it was a good idea while it lasted.
Joe: I presumed you were just speechless from the plumage. Or freaked out because Dru isn’t wearing panties. Hmm, would the adult conspiracy extend to a comic as artistic as Pibgorn?
Goeff could have a ways to go if he’s stuck in the middle of the ocean where Dru’s frozen tsunami was made. Even if it’s not exactly in the middle, it was in international airspace, so that’s a ways out. 12 miles? 200??
Oh yummy, Moonsingerfan had the same problem I did. At least I’m not alone! Just close and reopen the page, and it will probably work the way it’s supposed to.
Aw, Edda and Amos are so cute. At least she’s trying to keep the secret this time. Getting Amos distracted is a nice bonus.
And now, it’s time for me to stumble up the wooden hill, take 2 laps in the tub, and slither into bed.
@KalahariNight: Won’t your “blinding white background” workaround affect ALL web pages that you view?
I suppose one could change it back after viewing Pibgorn and other UClick / GoComics sites, but it really would be nice if they’d solve the root problem.
Yes, overriding in preferences certainly will change all pages, not just Gocomics. I agree that the BEST thing will be if the Gocomics folks would just fix the problem at their end. But until then, I’m just going to keep one browser set for easier viewing of Pibgorn, and I’ll use one of my other browsers for other things.
I’m using IE7 on my mother’s computer with VISTA. I think I have edited a few comments over the weekend.
Yes, I put an underscore in the first comment block. Even my second post disappears when I try to edit it.
Pibgorn: Are we sure the sequence of the panels is clockwise top left to lower left? If it’s counter clockwise, it makes more sense to me.
9CWL: Blow in my ear and I’ll follow you anywhere!
drattit. A Monday cliffhanger. sigh. All right, who is doing this to Pib et al? Somebody (or something) turned Geoff into a popsicle (he surely didn’t do that himself now, did he?) Somebody has, seemingly, split Dru & Pib from their physical bodies & sent them off on lovingly detailed lascivious adventures. And now seems to be pulling Pib off for ????????
I’m not only confused, I’m FRUSTRATED. WHO IS DOING THIS!?! Surely not that smarmy little weasel toothy tom?
I’m opening the bottle of Laphroaig very slowly and carefully, pouring myself a dram, and retiring to my corner of the couch to brood with the senior cat to cuddle. If anyone would like some too, please help yourself…just don’t let the llama get into it, it makes him spit.
I was able to edit the previous post, but only because there were no other posts between it and the comment block(I think).
Still a lot of bugs remain with this new format.
I’m pretty sure it’s a clockwise sequence, Joe; last time Dru was “catching” Pib as she fell. The lower-left panel doesn’t fit into the sequence of events from then, but the upper-right panel does. So, lower-left, I believe, must be panel 3.
Welcome back, bmonk! I was thinking of you as I drove up route 17 from Phoenix to Flagstaff and back, wondering if you and/or members of your family were in some of the other cars on the road. I stopped to grab lunch at the turnoff to Payson.
Another thing I note with the new format, or possibly with this computer/Firefox edition: the time tags don’t update. (I also have to say I preferred them at the end of the comments, but I guess I can live with them at the start.)
We were going to eat at the new Chinese place in Payson on Friday eve (The China Wok), but between the opening and the long weekend and being Friday, the wait was quite long. Instead we had pizza across the way, and came back for Chinese on Saturday just after it opened, at about 11:15. Reasonably good food, but still a few bugs to work out in the layout and so on. I did enjoy the Korean Chicken. And the Hot and Sour Soup. And the Hot Mustard (unlabeled) was about the most aromatic I can ever remember. Yum! (As I said in my brief post Sat.) Too bad I can’t try all the menu items. ;-)
A fantastic saga of adventure both high and low, of forbidden passion and iambic pentameter, of fays, fools, organists, demons, accordions, heaven, hell and Shakespeare, Pibgorn follows the whims and flights of its eponymous fairy heroine as she plies her conviction that there must be more to life than depositing dew drops on dandelions and sleeping under mushrooms.
