If you would like to ‘favorite’ the strip, (and maybe the sketch, too), simply log in and click on the ‘Favorite’ star directly above the strip. Mr. McEldowney very kindly asked for us what purpose is served by favoriting, and this was the answer:
I asked my editor at Gocomics about the purpose of “favoriting” a strip. Her answer was this: “‘Favoriting’ allows people following you to see what comics you like. ‘Favorited’ comics also show up under your profile, and allow us to see what comics people are enjoying.”
Basically, I think it provides a method for spreading the word.

By request, i’ve been playing around with part of Monday’s strip for a 3D.

It’s only a sketch (basically) so far - i’m working on ideas. however, the preliminary is currently at http://electronictiger.net/avail/flick/dinah3d.png

Remember - cross your eyes to fuse the images. That (grmble grbkle ratsafratz) shadow is goiing to be the hard part, but the mike is gonna be Interesting, too.

I think it’s the same font, but i think the rendering has the jaggies for some reason.

It’s so simple, but I love the glowing cigarette in panel 1 - very effective.

I do wonder what’s with the narrative font, though. Since the speech bubbles are normal, I suspect it was designed that way, but it’s harder to read, for sure.

Turkish coffee, spiced nuts, and assorted dried fruits for the late nighters at the sideboard…I think I’ll take a dip in the pool to cool off (finally) from the previous few days’ worth of Drusillas…

fairport, nice job so far on the 3D image. I didn’t realize there was so much involved.

As tight and clingy as Dru’s bodices are, it’s amazing something that big and hard could fit in there without being very obvious and very painful. Must be some more of that demonic magic I suppose….

A follower gets notified of any posts you make on any comic. There may be other things; i’m not following anyone, but some people are following me…

Just a word to my fellow couchies, I’m going on an internet break for a month or so (no more than 30 days, lest I miss an installment here, oy!) because frankly, I need to be working more billable hours and my house is a mess (my two children are also jet lagged out the wazoo - I could go on and on here about why 3 year olds should never be taken on 12 hour flights, but I digress). Anyway, will miss you all (true story: I had a dream last night (what’s night?) that I went to meet UncleAlby, who just went by ‘Alby’ but looked like Storyteller, and my parents came to chaperone, and all I had was a bag of Ruffles to share). Take care, see you when my life is back in order, or a closer proximity thereof!

But Gnat Dipteran was no stupe. He hid a RPG-18 in his trenchcoat. Unfortunately, being longer than he was tall, it wasn’t easy to pull out when needed and Dinah got the drop on him and dropped him with one blast through and through his empty cranial cavity.

Check out the link I put in my comment about 15 or so posts before this one. According to it, a “roscoe” is a gun.

Actually, oddly enough, some of the most florid writers to use noir/hardboiled language were British, attempting to sound “American”.

I find that my favourite hardboiled line, however, is not by one of those Brits-trying-to-be-Americans but by a real USAian, Robert Leslie Bellem.

Bellem did, actually write “…a Roscoe sneezed spitefully…”

(Dru’s gun, actually looks vaguely - probably by accident - like some actual guns, though i can’t call specifics to mind, aside from a very slight resemblance to the AutoMag - except it’s too small.)

Ok, this got me interested enough to google it. I’m going to guess that she’s holding a 40’s era flare gun. Even makes sense for the story line. The one thing against my happy theory is that none of the pics I found show a sight on them, as hers does. Well, that’s my theory and I’m sticking to it! (Until corrected by later events!)

And on a completely unrelated note—I sure wish hats would make a comeback. Ball caps don’t count.

The auto pistol carried by Dru bears a resembalence to one used by the Japanese in WWII, a 7mm called I believe a Nambu or something similar. Just a piece of trivia…and I love the line “I never forget a body temperature” it says everything about the past relationship they had. (An aside..I sure wish they has spell ckeck)
