If you would like to ‘favorite’ the strip, (and maybe the sketch, too), simply log in and click on the ‘Favorite’ star directly above the strip. Mr. McEldowney very kindly asked for us what purpose is served by favoriting, and this was the answer:
I asked my editor at Gocomics about the purpose of “favoriting” a strip. Her answer was this: “‘Favoriting’ allows people following you to see what comics you like. ‘Favorited’ comics also show up under your profile, and allow us to see what comics people are enjoying.” Basically, I think it provides a method for spreading the word. I bet Lena would be jealous of Dru’s improvements.

They often/usually do when she’s picking her own outfit rather than picking it out of someone’s fantasies; just as Pib prefers green, Dru likes red.

Welcome back JonD.
On the other hand, this scene with Cyd, in red dress and black opera-length gloves, from The Band Wagon (also 1953), with Fred Astaire, works for me:

You’re welcome marg and .cc.
White girls can go doo doo doo… too. It just wouldn’t sound as good. The Cyd Chalisse (Charisse) dance by the statue looked pretty Good. If only Edda were that tall. Such good moves for so long of limbs. I suspect there isn’t much story line as those kinds of pictures are more about terpsichorean. Mom loved those kinds of flicks and was probably a fan of Cyd. Didn’t pay attention as a number of her interests were outside my ken. Now if there were a common binder like a pibgorn strip involved.. who knows.
She has legs that are well worth a stare. She is packing (after a fashion) a pair of 38s. And though I’m pretty sure she doesn’t need, or have, a gun, she WILL be Trouble. I didn’t know Miss Cloverly could sing.
Back in the 80s, Lou was adamant he wouldn’t do videos.
So one day (this was back when MTV actually played more videos than anything else) i’ve got MTV on and i hear some familiar chords, and i look, and it sure looks like it must be a Lou Reed video:
Okay so the show number looks a little Frisky in Flicker font. The MASTER..ER..ER. is now building for the flicker work up. Wonder how far he’ll go? No question how far people in here will go…
Lou can duck and weave the grungy streets of New York on one of those things.
The image you see when you click the mouse was too tall.
The new one - from Jen Breeden’s Devil’s Panties {http://devilspanties.keenspot.com/} is great; it’s Jen’s portrayal of her own reaction to the punchline (background, last panel) that really makes it funniest for me.
I forgot to mention that virtually everything associated with the two new flickers - including the comics themselves - is probably NSFW to a greater or lesser degree.
Excellent flicks, fairportfan (and luckily I checked them out in time to see both versions of the one you changed). EDIT: interesting to note, too, that Dru’s cleavage is actually more explicit in the finished art than in the sketch….
Interesting that Reed would do a commercial when he was resisting videos….
A fantastic saga of adventure both high and low, of forbidden passion and iambic pentameter, of fays, fools, organists, demons, accordions, heaven, hell and Shakespeare, Pibgorn follows the whims and flights of its eponymous fairy heroine as she plies her conviction that there must be more to life than depositing dew drops on dandelions and sleeping under mushrooms.

I think that the actual video for Walk on the Wild Side, when it came out, was very similar - may have used some of the same footage.
(His first video, for the song Video Violence, featured a robot “Lou Reed” ripping its own face off…)
