If you would like to ‘favorite’ the strip, (and maybe the sketch, too), simply log in and click on the ‘Favorite’ star directly above the strip. Mr. McEldowney very kindly asked for us what purpose is served by favoriting, and this was the answer:
I asked my editor at Gocomics about the purpose of “favoriting” a strip. Her answer was this: “‘Favoriting’ allows people following you to see what comics you like. ‘Favorited’ comics also show up under your profile, and allow us to see what comics people are enjoying.”
Basically, I think it provides a method for spreading the word.

@ Captain Smokeblower: May I add my condolences to the group. I, too have loved and lost a few four-legged friends. I miss them all on a daily basis. I am sure they wait for me at the next stop, but I suspect my cat Raven looks in on me from time to time. I hear his voice at the window when there is nothing there. He is saying “Okay?” as in “Are you okay?” something he used to do when he was here. Fortunately, I understand fluent cat. I don’t have to speak it because they understand us just fine, they just don’t pay attention most of the time. He is the only cat that ever asked me that.

Okay here is my attempted miswrite of The Tiger by William Blake
I lack the imagination to make further changes.

    The Demon

    Demon, demon, burning bright
    In volcano’s crimson light,
    What immortal hand or eye
    Could claim thy sensual symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burns the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare you aspire?
What dread form enters thy pyre?

And what shoulder and what art
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand lay upon thy teat?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? What dread grasp
    Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And water’d heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his love to see?
Did he who made the dame make thee?

    Demon, demon, burning bright
    In volcano’s crimson light,
    What immortal hand or eye
    Dare claim thy sensual symmetry?

TheSkulkerPro says: “Story Teller Living in Portland, do you ever frequent the Goose Hollow Inn? It is(was) in western Portland not too far from downtown. I don’t remember the address. Hopefully it is still in business. It was a neighborhood pub - one that you didn’t want to examine too closely in bright light - that had quite an eclectic clientel. The owner, Bud Clark, was talked into running for mayor in ‘84 by his drinking buddies/patrons after grousing on how bad was the current administration. He won 52% of the vote in the primary because the then mayor didn’t put any credence into his amateur oponent and didn’t campaign. Don’t know how good a mayor he turned out to be but he was a colorful character. In one of the most memorable if not the most famous picture of Portland, Bud is the person in the trenchcoat flashing a nude statue. I loved his sense of humor.”

Yup. Still there. I have been by it many times, but have never gone in. I must do that someday.

I loved Bud. I still write him in for every uncontested position on the ballots. I predicted that when the time came to make the decision whether to run agin it would depend entirely on how much fun he was having at the time. I was right. Everybody was giving him grief so he said “Screw it! I’m going back to bartending!” I loved the time he put his foot down on the then-chief of police who was getting a little snotty at a city council meeting. The chief said that Bud could not tell him what to do. Clark looked over his reading glasses and pointedly said “I sign your paychecks, so yes I can tell you what to do.” That shut the chief right up! Gotta admire the man for that.

And nobody complains about a weekend cliffhanger, or mentions it ‘til now.

So, Bustard did awaken our Dru with a kiss (of demon sorts). And now she arouses, uhrrr … arises, fully awake and hungry, it seems. Or, is that a more combative pose ..?

Wondering what spells/magic that Dru put on Nat that might still be in effect. From Borgia Cantus, we are led to believe that Dru imprisoned Nat in the book, meaning she bested him in a contest previously. Is Nat “trapped” in his persona as Nat due to this spell ..? How did Nat escape ..?

In panel #3, he sure does appear to be a handsome devil …

@Captain Smokeblower: My sympathies also on your companion’s passing. We lost one of our feline housemates Monday to colon cancer. He didn’t show a sign until Friday night, but the vet said the tumor had spread to his lymph nodes and there was nothing to do but send him on the next branch of the Nine-fold Path. I keep hearing Annie Lennox singing “Into the West”. I’m sure he’s happy chasing mice in the hold of a Grey Ship.

    My Condolences Captain Smoke Blower.

The first two kitties I adopted were a brother and sister from the same litter. Sadly, I lost Sister (Shadow) quite suddenly and unexpected to cancer in 2004. I decided that it would be a fitting legacy for her to bequeath her happy home to another little kitty girl in need. About a month later, I adopted a little grey kitten from one of our local rescue orgainizations. Stormie was the sole survivor from an abandoned litter, and the first months of her life were pretty rocky, but now she is a healthy, happy 5-year old beauty. If circumstances permit, and when the time is right, it would be a fitting legacy to Miss Oreo to open your heart and home to a rescue, in her honor. There are so many who need what you have to give.

(Edit: can’t resist making the comment: Lucky Bustard! )

At night I wake up with the sheets soaking wet
And a freight train running through the
    Middle of my head
