If you would like to ‘favorite’ the strip, (and maybe the sketch, too), simply log in and click on the ‘Favorite’ star directly above the strip. Mr. McEldowney very kindly asked for us what purpose is served by favoriting, and this was the answer:
I asked my editor at Gocomics about the purpose of “favoriting” a strip. Her answer was this: “‘Favoriting’ allows people following you to see what comics you like. ‘Favorited’ comics also show up under your profile, and allow us to see what comics people are enjoying.” Basically, I think it provides a method for spreading the word. One thought about these steamy scenes with Pib… if this were a movie, they’d have taken what, 10 seconds each to slide by. The nuances and innuendos would’ve hit the subconscious after the visual was already gone.
In this medium, we have the time to see, analyze and get beyond quick impressions. I’m not sure which I prefer. There’s something to be said for the “less is more” approach. I’ve not really studied these a lot (not being on over the weekend) and think that I’m enjoying them more than if I looked long and hard. Yeah, I might be missing little things like the phone off the hook, but the overall impression is still there and has that “Oh My” feel in a different, subtler way.
I’m running Firefox. To get the new Pibgorn, I have to log off, close Firefox, clear the cache, start Firefox again and call up Pibgorn. (And doing this tonight still gave me the old sketch until I logged on again.) Is there a better way? Or am I being exceptionally victimized by the SAS?
@fairportfan, the sketch looks to me like Nat’s arm is in the same position as in the final (note the shirt sleeve and jacket sleeve over it.) Pib’s right hand in the sketch seems to be either on Nat’s elbow or upper arm. (Just my 2¢.)
fearciuil - Started in January 1999, so just over 10 years. By “former conductor”, did you mean Jim? Did you hear about his accident flying model airplanes? Guess it must have been about 18 months ago now.
Interesting camera angle here, as they lie on the floor (their hats say it must be thus), and unusual lighting, as they manage to cast shadows to viewer’s right except where the
art director doesn’t want them; e.g., her cleavage….
To those who didn’t catch the beginning, this survey is a list of questions
that wildflowerose put together for this community to get an idea of where
and who we are: interesting tidbits such as age range, locations, favorite
strips, books, movies, food, training, etc. Anyone who has not yet sent a
completed survey to her is encouraged to download a blank one and do so.
A Reminder: OTC Survey due this Wednesday
For anyone one wants to participate and hasn’t already completed the OTC
survey, you only have a couple of days left. Wildflowerose has set a deadline
of this Wed, April 1 for them to be returned to her. You can download the
survey questionnaire directly from the URLs below. Her email address is
embedded in the XLS files and the plain text file. If you use the Open Office
file, download the plain text file as well to get her address.
Before you return the completed survey, change the file name by appending
your screen name to it. It will make her job a bit easier. Remember she
has graciously volunteered to do this so please help her as much as you can.
I don’t think Pib’s gievn him up; she’s just doing the “If you love something, let it go free…”
Actually, it seems more a case of Pib sowing some wild oats…she felt, in Dru, a passion for Geoff that she could not match, for whatever reason. An upon telling geoff about Dru’s depth of obsession, what did he do? A little splendor in the grass, as I recall…so Pib saw that, and it seems decided to do a little exploration of her own…
In other words, i think this tryst is more about pib than about Nate, geoff, or Dru…
Jalapeño summer sausage, smoked cheddar, and various savory crackers with a few bottles of the 2001 vintage Fonseca Bin no.27 port for the overnight crowd…GoodNightNow!
fearciuil, the leaner Boilerplate works for me. But, then, I’m familiar with the TAC Pibby on the Fly (even signed up); I am not sure if a newbie would know what to look for unless actually following the connecting link, so drawing attention to the connecting link is key. I think you’ve done that. Do others agree?

I doubt it is Firefox or the SAS. More likely it is your installation.
I run FF and typically it is up for days at a time, with multiple windows

Try disabling all your extensions and plugins and try again. Check all

Hi, I’m new to the forum. But what I want to know is… Who’s phantisy is this. Pibs? Jeffs? Nats? or Mr Mce’s?
Been reading both Pibgorn and 9 CWL for a long time. And now I’m addicted to the comments too. Ahhh!
I have to say I like Pib’s position in the sketch better, where her right arm is crossed over and resting on Nat’s shoulder/arm. Here, she’s laid back and pulled away from him, save for her left hand.
Definitely worth a flicker, fairport.
Edit: I did look at the sketch again, and have further comments there, mainly because that way it’s available to look at while reading my comments.
To have have Pib say those first five words to me … I would have lived a full life in deed. Indeed.
Nat demonstrates here the level of dexterity required to earn those words: he rolled and ignited over 3 dozen cigarettes while laying in Pib’s arms on the floor. In an unbelted & opened trenchcoat.
I like the new boilerplate here. Might be some room for improvement, but overall it is now moved in a much better direction.
The title of the post in the TAC forum could be better; a lot of folks are unlikely to understand what “boilerplate” means out of context. That title can be edited; I’d suggest something like:
“Useful links and resources for the Pibverse.”
Also, it remains to be seen if the topic remains useful. If everyone jumps in with endless chatter (which happened on an earlier topic), then the topic becomes nearly useless.
In my opinion, anything that drives some of the discussion here into a more organized set of threaded topics is an improvement. A lot of things get posted here that are very valuable resources every day … but they get lost after 24 hours because there is no way to find them again through the background noise. Things posted more than 2 weeks ago here are lost to anyone who isn’t a paid subscriber … and, truthfully, I don’t think anyone ever goes back, due to the insane difficulty of trying to find a needle in a haystack of needles.
A fantastic saga of adventure both high and low, of forbidden passion and iambic pentameter, of fays, fools, organists, demons, accordions, heaven, hell and Shakespeare, Pibgorn follows the whims and flights of its eponymous fairy heroine as she plies her conviction that there must be more to life than depositing dew drops on dandelions and sleeping under mushrooms.

From both sides.
Of course, i used to have a t-shirt based on that little bit of sappy hippie wisdom that i think Dru would appreciate:
“If you love something, let it go free.
“If it doesn’t come back, hunt it down and kill it.”
Bought that one at the same DC/Baltimore area SF convention where i got the one that said “Rainy days and automatic weapons always get me down.”

I like the new boilerplate here. Might be some room for improvement, but overall it is now moved in a much better direction.
