Do you think maybe Master has been just a tiny bit influenced by comments he’s read here in writing today’s script? It’s definitely a hoot, but a bit unexpected!
(and maybe the sketch, too), simply log in and click on the ‘Favorite’ star directly above the strip. Mr. McEldowney very kindly asked for us what purpose is served by favoriting, and this was the answer:
I asked my editor at Gocomics about the purpose of “favoriting” a strip. Her answer was this: “‘Favoriting’ allows people following you to see what comics you like. ‘Favorited’ comics also show up under your profile, and allow us to see what comics people are enjoying.”
Basically, I think it provides a method for spreading the word.

Joe_Minotaur has a number of fan fictions based upon Pibgorn and TV police dramas:
• http://home.earthlink.net/~joeminotaur (start reading at the bottom of the page!)
Once i get done installing Linux and switch back to Windows (and re-install a few things there … don’t ask … “Whatta we doin’ tonight, Brain?” “The same thing we do every night, Pinky - re-installing Windows 7…”), i shall generate a flicker pic for this strip.
(note to jwhouk67 and anyone else wondering: fearciuil retired early tonight because she was not feeling well but has work to do tomorrow, so she’ll not be posting the boilerplate. Stand-in?)
Could Lena be a trainee or heiress for Dru? I am certain that Lena would not argue the idea. Possible other thought could be that after this exchange, it will not be the last time that Dru and Lena will have some interaction/communications. Time (and the Master) will tell.
Incidentally - the current Wapsi Square strip has a wonderful punchline. If you’re not a Wapsi reader, i’d say start a couple strips back - at http://wapsisquare.com/d/20090220.html
For those who do so - Monica, the shorter young woman (the one with the charlies) is involved in all sorts of strange mystical stuff only of concern if you’re reading the strip. She works as an expert in pre-Columbian antiquities at a museum. Katharine, the taller girl with the spooky dark eyes, is a fabrics expert at the same museum. She knows a little about Monica’s situation, but not all. She wants to help.
In the strip linked above, Monica has told her that something she found online is a conspiracy-nut website, and has decided to take her to The Library - which is the repository of all knowledge, and is (normally) off-limits to humans (and can only be reached by “POIT!”ing - teleporting).
Phix, the Librarian/Guardian of The Library, is a sphinx.
What a rush for Lena Egg, enjoying an extended private conversation with her heroine! I wonder how much this might in a convoluted, time-warped way have contributed to her “Queen” persona in Suzerain?
Contrary to popular belief (except for Poms, who is paying way to close of attention and must not have a RL), reports of wildflowerose’s being attacked by herbicide are totally false. I am fine, have been reading the strips, and just have a whole lotta stuff going on in my RL, so don’t post very often.
One really great RL thing happened tonight, though- I had a very nice dinner with ccdesan, who detoured from his travels in California long enough to meet me for a great meal and better conversation. I know he also visited with another couch denizen prior to visiting me, and is also planning to visit someone else in CA later on, so adding those of us he has already encountered, ccdesan probably earns first prize for “couch denizens who have met other couch denizens”.
Take care everyone, and thanks Frida for: 1. thinking of me and 2. for the great birria!

Jason & the Scorchers were/are pretty much the definitive cowpunk band. Here’s the CD with the Hank covers: http://tinyurl.com/dlwro7 (and a studio and live version of Absolutely Sweet Marie that’re so good ive had people in the music industry tell me that they wrote it and Dylan covered it…)
I’ve heard of both terms ‘charlies’ and ‘chops’ The term charlies were indicative of the ‘C’ cup hence a pair of 38C’s were referred to as a pair of 38 charlies. Charlie was selected as the phonetic alphabet word for the letter ‘C’
The term chops originated from the musical world. It was an appreciation for a guitarist performance the chops referring to the ‘chopping’ action of the hand actually playing the chords/notes. It was later expanded to basically complement someone who executed a particular task well, whether it be art, sports or whatever.
The HouChron is doing its “You can’t read me with any browser” trick again - and i’m getting different results from each of the three. Opera gives me a screen of gibberish. Firefox says “Unsupported encryption” and IE just refuses to say anything.
(I collect Luann from the HouChron because it’s the only place i’ve found that puts the un-colourised strips online.)
I’ve heard “chops” used several different ways in the musical world, mostly as a close relative of “experience”, as in “Will this guy be able to replace Jerry? Does he have enough chops?”, and also (which is, I suppose, what Brooke was on about) as a combination of experience, skills,
and abilities, as in “Wynton Marsalis has a great set of chops, doesn’t he?”.
In that regard, the new set of demon chops is undoubtedly the ones she picked up from Spitty, which certainly have left her a lot sleeker (and meaner).
Sure wish she didn’t look quite so much like a praying mantis in that first panel, though.
And while we are on the subject of less-than-serious treatment of someone else’s work – let us bend an ear to Anna Russell vs. Wagner, with The Ring Of The Nibelungs going down for the long count.

A fantastic saga of adventure both high and low, of forbidden passion and iambic pentameter, of fays, fools, organists, demons, accordions, heaven, hell and Shakespeare, Pibgorn follows the whims and flights of its eponymous fairy heroine as she plies her conviction that there must be more to life than depositing dew drops on dandelions and sleeping under mushrooms.
