I asked my editor at Gocomics about the purpose of “favoriting” a strip. Her answer was this: “‘Favoriting’ allows people following you to see what comics you like. ‘Favorited’ comics also show up under your profile, and allow us to see what comics people are enjoying.” Basically, I think it provides a method for spreading the word. I don’t think the Eggs have had a chance to go home for dinner, yet, margueritem–though I could be wrong. Depends on where that grassy area they are sitting on is located….
[EDIT] It does seem to be a residential, if somewhat sparsely populated area (hedge; single cottage in background; view out over the Atlantic Dru Event).
I suspect that if she has the hoe, she is going to need the hoe… but as today is Friday in Pibland (although not here in California), we will have to wait to find out why!
@bmonk,
from yesterday You identified source. I read it back in the early seventies. The gist of the content stuck with me, but not the author or title.
Thank you.
This isn’t exactly what’s meant by Event Horizon, but any brilliant ball of power centered over the Atlantic yet visible on a land mass either side of said ocean is not child’s play. The EMP noted yesterday is probably not any of the pilots’ concern. They’re probably beyond being concerned about the vaporization temperature of aluminum, titanium and humanity.
What’s the last thing to pass through the mind of a pilot trying to outrun Dru’s wrath?
Answer: His afterburners.
“This isn’t exactly what’s meant by Event Horizon, but any brilliant ball of power centered over the Atlantic yet visible on a land mass either side of said ocean is not child’s play. That is, of course, assuming that Dru has manifested something akin to ball lightning or a thermonuclear blast.
Dru is not usually quite that callous or cavalier where human life is concerned; since her action os supernal/magical, it may not adt like anything we can conceive of.
Also, I love the aside in the first panel in which Edda gives her assessment of Ilsa…but if what she says is true, and one imagines that Ilsa somehow ended up with Rick, I’d really feel bad for Victor Laslo in a kind of Tom-Hanks-in-Cast-Away sense…
Just wanted to repeat that suggestion so folks don’t miss the opportunity. Yes, there is some issue about how updated the site is, but the community is large & established … and each comic is updated by fans as they have time & inclination. So, Pibgorn and 9CWL and other miscellaneous could all be created &/or edited. And, then used as a “home base” of sorts for reference.
That said, in the Freefall forum at TAC, there is a discussion thread dedicated to discovered and recommended webcomics. I just contributed about a dozen recommended ones (page 7), but there are about a hundred or so throughout that topic, here:

I think enough people know how to “favortie a strip to we have to see the meglominiacal at the first of the comments every day now?
The boilerplate that usually appears as the first comment is particularly helpful especially to the new arrivals to the Comfortable Couch of Confusion. For the rest of us, who only occasionally utilize some of the tricks such as changing font size and italicizing our comments, it comes in very handy. Your attitude towards our merry little band of Pib-addicts suggests that you may have a little troll in you. Ordinarily I like many of my fellow couch crouchers would not advise feeding Trolls, but in the spirit of friendship and possibly de-trolling your nature, I offer you some of our delectable nibbles from the end table. I left a small tray of millionaires shortbread there that I made from a recipe that I got from my landlady while stationed in Scotland.
A: “Ground Zero”
Q: “What resulted when Mr. Mostel backed into the shredder?”
Frankly, I love the diversion to this scene after the last few days’ acceleration to Dru’s fission.
Nice catching up on a couple of days of your postings folks; I admit that I’m still missing a few of your references, but yes, I can be taught.
I can’t believe no one made a comment about how Roger and Lena may now be part of a Nuclear Family…. oops, guess I just did.
Enjoy your weekend, amigos!

boozoowhotheheckcares - I get the impression, when you equate Mr. McE. with “pure onanism”, that your intention is to imply, first, that he creates his comics purely for self-gratification; second, that there is something wrong with that; and finally, that he’s doing it in a vacuum.
First, the only valid reason for participating in any art form is to please oneself, although when (like Mr. McE) one is also able to use it to pay the mortgage and grocery bills, I can see nothing wrong with that. In addition, judging from the number of people who consistently post comments in here, and who obviously are enjoying the story line and artwork, I contend that Mr. McE. is very far from creating in a vacuum, and is pleasing a lot of folks besides himself.
Now, if you can’t be civil, please go somewhere else.
MMMM! I realize this is a de-trolling offering, but I just HAD to sneak a bite of this millionaires shortbread! I will leave some homemade cinnamon rolls in it’s place…
Joe_Minotaur says:
From the size of Dru’s glowing discharge, it’s height, etc… I’d say that Roger and Lena are only 30 miles from ground zero.
Respectfully disagree. Review yesterday’s strip … Dru gained some serious altitude before detonating. She’s effectively in low-Earth orbit. The scale of the event is impressive. From NYC, the Eggs must be a minimum of 200 miles away, perhaps up to 500.
That is one serious space-time rift that just opened. I’m imagining that Dru is creating a demonic wormhole of somesort and is about to send some fraction of the denizens of he|| to ..? Another world? Another dimension ..? My guess for next week is that there is going to be one large vortex extending from ground zero of the tsunami up into that rift.
A fantastic saga of adventure both high and low, of forbidden passion and iambic pentameter, of fays, fools, organists, demons, accordions, heaven, hell and Shakespeare, Pibgorn follows the whims and flights of its eponymous fairy heroine as she plies her conviction that there must be more to life than depositing dew drops on dandelions and sleeping under mushrooms.

I love that Dru pic with the comment about the 200 ton bluebottle fly…
So, did Luciano have any ill effects from eating a live, if somewhat denatured, demon?
And where did he finally end up- did Dru find him a monumental trash pile, far away from pesticides?
