‘favorite’ the strip,

(and maybe the sketch, too), simply log in and click on the ‘Favorite’ star directly above the strip. Mr. McEldowney very kindly asked for us what purpose is served by favoriting, and this was the answer:
I asked my editor at Gocomics about the purpose of “favoriting” a strip. Her answer was this: “‘Favoriting’ allows people following you to see what comics you like. ‘Favorited’ comics also show up under your profile, and allow us to see what comics people are enjoying.”
Basically, I think it provides a method for spreading the word.

In panel 1 Dru seems to desire to concentrate really hard on something that evidently needs to be channeled through Pib. Wonder:

a) what it is
b) why she can’t do it directly
c) if it needs something inherently fairyish rather than demonish
[and of course…]
d) how’ll Pib come out of it?

Stupid thought: could all this be just to get a new color scheme for Pib to complement Dru’s Black & Red?

I hope this theme continues. Even though Pib is encased in that prickly plasma, it’s Dru who is being tested.

That is an interesting thought, given the apparent mental state of Dru at the moment. Considering that, would it be a good idea for Pib to take on some of that mojo? Then again, maybe it would be a good thing, because it would dissipate some of the intense evil Dru is experiencing.

I, for one, do NOT want the “old” Dru back. Her new self is a challenge to become something even more than she ever was. Yes, she’s much more dangerous … but I have faith she will overcome. Eventually. Some of the disasters and failures along the way should provide entertainment, and more.

THANK YOU for all the well-wishes and good thoughts & vibes & prayers. I don’t think the gory details are important, but for anyone who caught my posts from last Thrs, just know that I’m fairly all right. I’m struggling with some pretty serious damage to my knees and I’ve ripped some muscle and severely pulled my left hamstring. It’s a lot of pain and is keeping me mobility-impaired … and will for a couple of months. Thank you all for your concern.

Interesting thought uniquehorn, about Pib’s recharge vs what’s happening now. But we’ve not been told that this is cold. It seems to be a short form of whatever Dru had coming out of her hands over the whirlpool…

With all the supercharging, it’ll be interesting to see what this does to the nightclub act…

- I’m with the group that believes Dru is surrounding Pibgorn with a coccoon and that when done, Pib will emerge with a new color scheme. Perhaps she will look even more like a hummingbird than a butterfly with the wings of a fairy.
  The coloring on Dru’s ear seems to cover more of it than before.

Has no one thought of another alternative? This is possible an arc to show Pib that Dru loves her too. While it sounds a bit ‘sue’, it would explain Dru’s angry expression in the last panel. If she fell for Inky, then is questioning her feelings for Geoff (which happened AFTER Pib shared her thoughts and emotions)… and THEN when she forgot about Pib after Tom’s tastiness, why did she all of a sudden have an expression of OMG, what have I done? Why didn’t she eradicate the memory from Geoff with her new powers? ‘Twould be a convenient time to do so.

Meh. Mebbe I’m just fishin’.

Whatever’s going on with Pib, she doesn’t look as if it hurts. Looks positively exhilarated, in fact.

Quite a troll attack last night. Are they mostly nocturnal? Seems as if. Well, with luck, they’ve slithered back into their muck, and won’t have enough attention span to come back for a while.

The melding of Dru and Pib not only gave Pib insight into Dru’s feelings for Roger, but for Pib as well. She’s testing that friendship now, but that’s her nature. Dru has a lot of good about her, something that wars with the more carefree and demonic aspects of being a succubus, and at times I think it makes her testy, to say the least! I do wonder what the new Pib look will be, I am sure there will be SOME change.

Major thematic questions are indeed being asked - while the tsunami that could destroy civilization as we know it is held in stasis - and the two chief characters may be about to undergo heavy changes…which is why I liked things so much better back in Suzerain, where you could always hit the ‘reset’ button. As Browning put it:
“I detest all change,
And most a change in aught I loved long since.”

As I settle in on the Couch and grunble… toasted sourdough bread with leek and basil butter and Peet’s coffee; get it while it’s hot.
